In the middle of a cold winter night, many shops and workers have to light fires on the sidewalk to keep warm. Young people take advantage of this opportunity to gather and chat until night in the cold weather.

A cafe on Pham Hung Street (Nam Tu Liem) lit a fire to attract customers and serve them to keep warm.

Mr. Hoang Duc Luong (a night sticky rice seller) said that it was so cold today that he picked up some dry branches from the roadside and started a fire to warm himself up when there were no customers. "It's so cold, there's no fire to warm himself up, sitting outside for hours is unbearable," said Mr. Luong.

Some cafes along West Lake also have fireplaces to warm customers.
