Following the announcement that the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway project will commence in May 2025, residents of Van Ho district – the area through which the road passes – have expressed great excitement and high expectations. The project is seen as a significant boost, helping to alleviate the dependence of National Highway 6 on the route and opening up new opportunities for socio -economic development in the Northwest region.
Recently, upon learning about the upcoming construction of the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway (the section within Son La province), Mr. Thoi and many other households in the village were very excited, hoping that the road would facilitate the sale of agricultural products and the transportation of goods.
Mr. Vi Van Thoi, Na Ten village, Chieng Khoa commune, Van Ho district, Son La province: Generally speaking, the government came down to mark this land, and our house is affected by both the road and the resettlement area. Our family is very happy about this; there are no problems, no arguments, because it's land. It's land we're currently cultivating, but the government is reclaiming it, and we don't know what to do with it. Even our family has to agree, so there's no issue.
According to the land clearance boundaries, Mr. Cai's family will have 3,000m² of agricultural land and 200m² of residential land confiscated to serve the implementation of the Expressway Project and the resettlement project for households in the village. Following this information, Mr. Cai expressed his hope that the government will soon implement appropriate support policies to help people in the project area stabilize their livelihoods and take advantage of the development potential from the new infrastructure projects.
Mr. Vi Van Cai, Na Cha village, Chieng Khoa commune, Van Ho district, Son La province: Regarding the policy, I strongly support the State's policy on this highway project. I also hope that the State will pay more attention to the issue of resettlement or land loss, ensuring stable economic conditions or providing housing and support for economic matters and livelihoods so that people can have stable lives.
The Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway project involves land clearance along approximately 34km, with about 30km located within Van Ho district. Recognizing this as a key political priority, the district established a Steering Committee for Resettlement and Land Clearance, which directly visited the site to meet with, discuss, and educate the local population, resolving difficulties and obstacles for each household.
Mr. Nguyen The Phuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Ho District, Son La Province: Van Ho District has implemented independent procedures regarding the land surveying and counting process according to schedule. We are striving to start construction on 4 points in Anh Cu by April 15th. In addition, we will carry out land clearance work for the roads running from Moc Chau to Hoa Binh. We are determined to ensure that by June 30th, the land clearance work in Van Ho District will be basically approved and payments made to the people.
The Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway (the section passing through Son La province) is expected to alleviate traffic congestion, upgrade regional connectivity infrastructure, and shorten travel time while reducing transportation costs. Residents in the project area of Van Ho district also hope the road will boost tourism development in the Moc Chau National Tourist Area (Van Ho district), attract more investors to develop industry and agriculture, especially in the consumption of agricultural products, create more jobs, and gradually improve the lives of the people.
