According to Deputy Minister Phan Tam, this International Experimental Theatre Festival has a greater significance than an art event, because it is a meeting point between cultures, a place to share common values of humanity. The festival demonstrates Vietnam's spirit of openness and proactive integration in the field of performing arts; contributing to building friendship, peace, respect for cultural diversity, in line with the spirit of cultural diplomacy that Vietnam is persistently pursuing.

“With its own identity, increasingly large scale and increasingly high artistic quality, the festival is gradually becoming an “international art brand” of Vietnam,” Deputy Minister Phan Tam affirmed.

In terms of expertise, Dr. and playwright Nguyen Dang Chuong, Vice President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association and Chairman of the Festival Jury, said that this is the festival with the most participating units ever, with 8 works from 8 international troupes and 19 works from 19 domestic art units participating. The richness of the 10 participating theater genres demonstrates the constant creativity and innovation in the context of strong changes in science, technology and social life. The festival is a multi-colored picture, showing the efforts of artists to explore and experiment through many new creative methods, from non-traditional structures, conventional spaces, to the blending of modern and traditional forms.

Delving into the experimentation of theatrical art creation in Vietnam, Dr. Nguyen Dang Chuong believes that it has become richer, trying to find new and strange things in terms of artistic techniques and forms of expression, but it has not reached the desired level. The Vietnamese theatrical creative team is lacking in quantity and quality; the acceptance of new things sometimes unintentionally breaks traditional values...

According to Dr. Nguyen Dang Chuong, experimentation always goes hand in hand with both success and failure. Failure is also a valuable lesson, nurturing the desire for creativity. Therefore, artists need to continue to devote themselves to creativity, preserve national identity and strive for the values of truth, goodness and beauty.
