For many foreigners coming to Vietnam, Hanoi is a place they cannot miss.

Some people come to travel , some choose to stay and live, but everyone has their own reason to love Hanoi.
“This is Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. This is my favorite city and also the place where I spent most of my youth,” Saleem Hammad, a Palestinian who has lived in Vietnam for many years, introduced Hanoi in a video posted on TikTok @saleem.vn in February.
As a familiar face in the foreign community in Vietnam, he regularly posts many videos promoting life and culture in Vietnam.
“Do you know why I love Hanoi? Because Hanoi people are very kind and friendly. They always welcome you with a warm heart and a lovely smile. And what I like most about Hanoi is the peaceful atmosphere that you can feel in every corner,” Saleem said in the video Why of I love Hanoi?.
Meanwhile, for Ella of TikTok channel @lavitaella , Hanoi is a city that always surprises her.
“I think what I love about Hanoi is that every time I think I know all the best places in the city, I find something else that is equally beautiful while walking around. That’s how the city is, it keeps surprising you,” she said in a video posted last June.
Saleem and Ella are two of many people who chose to express their feelings for Hanoi on video sharing platforms.
“We are still in Hanoi, Vietnam, because we love it so much,” Australian couple Rosh and Stace introduced in their video WHY We LOVE Hanoi! | Hanoi, Vietnam Travel Vlog posted on their Go For Launch channel in early March.
“Today we will explore more of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, starting with the first bowl of chicken pho we’ve ever had in our lives. Next is Hoan Kiem Lake, but instead of walking, we’ll take a cyclo! We have to try it, right? We’re in Hanoi!”, the two excitedly “showed off”.

“Of course, we had to stop by to try the best egg coffee in Vietnam at the place that claims to be the first to sell egg coffee. And since we’ve had so much egg coffee, we thought it was time to take an egg coffee making class!”
Explore Hanoi in a different way
Not only expressing their feelings, many travel bloggers also summarize their experiences of traveling to Hanoi to share with those who intend to come to Hanoi.
In the article Hidden Hanoi: Best Things To Do Beyond The Usual Sights posted on the blog Indie Traveller , Dutch author Marek Bron shares his experiences so that tourists can experience Hanoi in a new way, besides the famous scenic spots that many people know.

“When I first arrived in the Vietnamese capital a few years ago, my eyes widened with excitement… The sound of car horns, thousands of motorbikes, women wearing conical hats and floral shirts selling fruit to passersby,” Marek recalled of his first visit to Hanoi.
“One thing is for sure: Hanoi is never boring,” he asserted.
“I have had the opportunity to visit Hanoi a few times, and instead of just giving you a short list of things to do in Hanoi, I want to inspire you to explore this city in a different way,” Marek introduces the travel “tips” he is about to reveal.
According to Marek, if tourists want to have a new experience in Hanoi, they should skip the famous attractions.
“My advice to you is not to let the typical beautiful scenes in Hanoi distract you from the true spirit of this city: enjoy the atmosphere, taste the food and observe the street life going on,” he wrote.
According to Marek, Hanoi is less about checking off things to do and more about enjoying the journey.
For Marek, a memorable trip to Hanoi is where you join a food tour, stroll around the walking street on weekend evenings, "hide" in cafes hidden in alleys, stop by coffee shops on the railway, sit on the back of a motorbike, visit local markets, sit in a cafe watching people and vehicles passing by, walk along "streets with specific shops" that specialize in selling one type of goods...
