Le Hong Hieu - Deputy Director of the Institute of Engineering, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), one of 251 educators nationwide who were recently awarded the title of Outstanding Educator of 2024 by the Ministry of Education and Training in Hanoi.

For him, "Teaching is a profession associated with love and passion for teaching and caring for students. Love for the profession is shown through the teacher's dedication, patience and sacrifice for students. To become a good teacher, one not only needs solid professional knowledge but also a heart that loves the profession, knows how to sympathize and understand students."

As a lecturer, participating in teaching at a young age, MSc. Le Hong Hieu said that encountering obstacles is inevitable. These challenges come not only from external issues but also from internal factors, such as lack of experience or confusion when facing new situations.

"The biggest motivation for me to overcome all difficulties is my passion for teaching and my belief in the value of education." He always believes that in addition to imparting knowledge to students to have a solid foundation, it is equally important to give them motivation and positive inspiration to continuously develop.

Besides being involved in management, connecting with businesses, and teaching students, he is also known as a mentor who accompanies young people in each national Mechanics Olympiad.

Each time I mentor students, it's another unforgettable experience for me. When reviewing and solving problems with them, the moment a student discovers a new approach leaves a strong impression.

The teacher shared: "This experience made me realize that in learning, collaboration and sharing ideas can create immense power and ignite passion and aspiration towards greater goals, overcoming personal limitations to reach new horizons in knowledge and life."

For the sake of nurturing talented and virtuous students, the professor has always strived tirelessly and devotedly to his profession. And in the context of today's digital transformation, he is constantly pondering how to find the best teaching methods for young people.

As a young lecturer in the field of technology and engineering, Mr. Hieu is also constantly concerned about applying science and technology to innovate teaching methods, bringing high effectiveness to the new generation of students.

"The combination of technology, integrated learning methods, gamification, and online learning support tools not only makes lectures more lively but also helps students develop more comprehensively, access modern knowledge and develop necessary skills for future careers," he said.

Mr. Le Hong Hieu received a certificate of merit for guiding students to achieve high achievements in academic competitions in the 2021-2022 school year, had three research articles published in ISI Q1 journals, two articles in ISI Q2 journals, two articles in ISCOPUS-Q3 journals, two research articles published in other international journals, designed and manufactured an electro-pneumatic experimental model to serve teaching work at the university...
