Cuu Long University awarded and granted nearly 10 billion VND in scholarships on the occasion of the opening of the 26th course.

(NLDO) - On October 21, Cuu Long University held the opening ceremony of the 26th course of the full-time university program for the 2025-2026 school year.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of provincial departments and branches; leaders of universities and colleges in the Mekong Delta region; leaders of agencies, businesses, and scholarship sponsors for students.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Distinguished Teacher, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong Minh Cu - Party Secretary, Principal of Cuu Long University - said that the school has currently trained over 42,000 bachelors, engineers, more than 1,200 masters, masters of various fields, who have graduated, serving the socio -economic system nationwide.

Currently, the school is training in 4 fields including: social sciences and humanities; economic sciences; engineering - technology and health sciences, with 38 majors and 90 narrow specialties.

At the postgraduate level, Cuu Long University is training 11 master’s degrees, 3 majors I, and 4 doctoral degrees in the fields of Vietnamese Literature, Finance – Banking, Business Administration and Food Technology. The current student population is over 35,000 people…

The school has diversified its admission methods to suit objective reality and has implemented its admission work with good results in the 2025 admission season.

To date, over 3,036 candidates have been admitted to the regular university program for the 26th course of the 2025-2026 school year, including 32 international students from Laos and Cambodia.

The school is accepting more international students from Laos, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, India, Japan and Korea to study Vietnamese language programs and undergraduate and master's programs offered by the school.

To recognize the academic achievements of new students, the school organized a reward ceremony for 6 new students with high scores in the 2025 regular university entrance exam.

Accordingly, the valedictorian was awarded 10 million VND by the school. In addition, Meritorious Teacher Luong Minh Cu also awarded a laptop worth 25 million VND to the valedictorian; each runner-up was awarded 8 million VND by the school.

Also at the opening ceremony of the 26th course, the school awarded full scholarships to 32 Khmer ethnic students in the Mekong Delta provinces to enroll in full-time university training programs in 2025, with a total value of 2.1 billion VND.

In addition, 262 scholarships were awarded to students. Of these, 38 new students were from poor and near-poor households; 81 new students were orphans; 7 new students were children of war invalids and children of families with revolutionary contributions; 123 new students were from ethnic minorities, 13 new students were from difficult circumstances, with a total value of 664 million VND. Tuition fees were exempted or reduced for 1,617 new students according to school regulations with a total amount of nearly 6.3 billion VND.

In particular, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the school's founding and welcoming the new school year, Cuu Long University gave each full-time undergraduate student 100,000 VND/student. The total amount of money awarded was nearly 700 million VND. The total budget for rewards and scholarships for the opening session of the 26th course - full-time undergraduate program for the 2025-2026 school year is nearly 9.8 billion VND.

On this occasion, more than 224 organizations and individuals contributed more than 1.6 billion VND to Cuu Long University's scholarship fund for students with excellent academic achievements and students in difficult circumstances.
