Facing a higher ranked opponent, Nguyen Thuy Linh still entered the match confidently, competing fiercely for points. After equalizing 17/17, the Japanese player had a series of 4 consecutive points to win 21/17 in the first set against Nguyen Thuy Linh.

Nguyen Thuy Linh played hard in game 2 with the desire to equalize the score, however Aya Ohori created an overwhelming game, continuously leading before winning with a difference of 21/11, securing the final victory of 2-0.

Stopping in the second round of the women's singles of the 2024 China Open badminton tournament, Nguyen Thuy Linh received 6,000 USD (nearly 150 million VND) in prize money and 5,400 bonus points on the Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings.

According to the plan, after this tournament, Nguyen Thuy Linh will compete in the Macau Open 2024 taking place from September 24 to 29, however, due to not having time to complete the procedures, the number 1 Vietnamese tennis player will return home to practice. The next tournament that the Dong Nai tennis player will participate in is the Denmark Open 2024 taking place from October 15. This tournament is part of the BWF Tour Super 750 system, so it attracts many of the world's top tennis players to participate.
