(Dan Tri) - A famous journalist said that half of the weapons supplied by the US to Ukraine have been smuggled into the international black market, including some that have fallen into the hands of notorious gangs in Mexico.

"A large amount of weapons that the US has provided to Ukraine in its conflict with Russia have ended up in the hands of Washington's real enemies," US journalist Tucker Carlson said in an interview with US Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis.

According to journalist Carlson, about half of the weapons they receive from the US end up on the international black market.

“The Ukrainian military is selling a significant amount, up to half of the weapons we send them. I don’t speculate, I know this to be true,” Mr. Carlson said, without revealing his sources or providing specific evidence.

He also claimed that weapons from Ukraine could be easily purchased online, calling the situation a "crime" and a "nightmare". "So this is a crime, our intelligence agencies were fully aware of this but did nothing," he added.

Since the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, the US Congress has approved about $175 billion in aid to Ukraine. However, the bulk of that aid is believed to have been allocated to the US defense industry and other US government activities related to the conflict.

In January 2025, President Donald Trump announced that Washington had spent more than $200 billion in aid to Kiev, but his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky later announced that Kiev had received only more than $75 billion in military aid and other aid from Washington.

"I don't know where Mr. Trump's estimate of $200 billion comes from," President Zelensky said.
