Công LuậnCông Luận17/02/2024

The book is nearly 300 pages thick, including more than 70 articles, the result of trips with friends to regions across the country, from Lung Cu, Meo Vac ( Ha Giang ) to Indochina Junction, the Mekong Delta, the South of the Fatherland and the island areas.

The author said that the person who inspired him the most in his trips was journalist Ngo Ha Thai, former Deputy General Director of Vietnam News Agency. They have accompanied each other on many journeys and trips with their passion for travel. Mr. Ngo Ha Thai is often the driver, also in charge of scheduling the trip and he does this accurately down to the minute.

“There is a common criterion throughout our trips. We choose scenic spots and natural heritage sites that have deep historical values and cultural identity,” journalist Tran Mai Huong shared.

Through the articles, readers can see that the author does not take any trips just for sightseeing. He describes the scenery while also providing valuable information about the history, culture, and famous people of each destination.

For example, journalist Tran Mai Huong went to Quang Tri to visit Hien Luong wharf, Cua Tung beach, and Truong Son cemetery; went to Quang Binh to visit Phong Nha-Ke Bang; stopped in Ha Tinh to visit the tomb of the great poet Nguyen Du. He and his companions also revisited the "indigo-colored mixed with wind" war zone of Bac Son-Lang Son; welcomed the flood season in Mu Cang Chai; visited the ancient tea forest of Suoi Giang- Yen Bai ; hunted clouds in Ta Xua-Son La; climbed Ngoa Van mountain, where Buddha Emperor Tran Nhan Tong practiced; went to Van Don, Quang Yen to find traces of the ancient Bach Dang battles...

There are places that he still wants to return to even though he has visited many times. There are places that he has to research hard to understand more about the culture and history. Luc Dau Giang is an example. He even had to draw a map of this land to visualize the terrain because this area is quite complex, the intersection of many places, also marking many historical events of building and defending the country such as Con Son, Kiep Bac, Binh Than...

Journalist Tran Mai Huong said that through his trips, he was able to see the beautiful landscapes of the country and learn more about the history of the country and its people, which made him more proud and love his country. That is also the spirit and inspiration that he wants to spread to readers through this book.

“Culture is the identity of each nation in the integration process, losing cultural identity means losing everything. Those are the comments on the importance of culture. This small book is my sharing and encouragement to readers to travel more, explore the history and culture of the country more to appreciate and be proud of it,” journalist Tran Mai Huong shared.

The book is jointly published by Tinh Van Books Company and the Writers Association Publishing House.
