The world's richest people are founders and CEOs of technology companies, whose fortunes have soared thanks to their businesses, and one billionaire has just surpassed Amazon boss Jeff Bezos on the super-rich list, thanks to a new breakthrough in artificial intelligence (AI).
Google co-founder Larry Page recently added $6 billion to his net worth, bringing his total wealth to $252 billion, after the launch of the company's latest AI model: Gemini 3. The new model, considered an improvement over Gemini 2.5 released about eight months ago, has sparked optimism from investors and analysts, sending shares of Alphabet, Google's parent company, soaring 3%.
Gemini’s success has pushed Page, who owns about 6% of Alphabet, to third place on Bloomberg’s daily ranking of the world’s richest people. Bezos, meanwhile, has been pushed to fourth place on the list by the recent decline in Amazon-related wealth and the simultaneous rise in the fortune of his Google co-founder. Google co-founder Sergey Brin, who also owns 6% of Alphabet, added $5 billion to rank fifth on the list of the super-rich.
Billionaires have seen their fortunes soar in the AI revolution, which briefly made Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison the world’s richest person, even surpassing Tesla CEO Elon Musk, before quickly losing $34 billion in net worth to fall to second place. Concerns about an AI bubble are growing, but experts say the Gemini model is the real solution.
Google explains that Gemini 3 has improved suggestion capabilities, providing users with better quality answers to complex questions without the need for elaborate suggestions to help AI understand the context and intent behind their questions. The new model will also be integrated into Google's search products, Gemini apps, and enterprise services.
