Within the framework of his working trip to attend the G20 Summit and bilateral activities in South Africa, on the afternoon of November 22 (local time), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his sincere thanks to the Australian Government for providing humanitarian assistance of more than 3 million Australian dollars to help Vietnam overcome the consequences of storms and floods. The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Australia, and suggested that the two sides continue to effectively implement the Action Plan to implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, periodically organize dialogue and consultation mechanisms, contributing to continuously increasing understanding and strengthening political trust.
The Prime Minister also asked the Australian side to actively discuss measures to further increase the two-way trade turnover, soon reaching the target of 20 billion USD, especially opening up and facilitating the export of goods from both sides to each other's markets. The Prime Minister reaffirmed the desire to promote the pillars of cooperation in science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, AI training, green technology, as well as cultural activities and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
For his part, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese affirmed his special affection for Vietnam and expressed his condolences for the great losses caused by natural disasters and floods in the central provinces recently; believing that Vietnam is a resilient country and that the Vietnamese people will certainly soon overcome and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that Australia also has to experience natural disasters that cause great damage, such as cyclones... Because of this, the two countries need to further strengthen cooperation in combating climate change and hope that Vietnam will continue to join hands to contribute to international efforts to respond to climate change.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese affirmed that Australia always prioritizes relations with Vietnam, considering Vietnam a leading partner in Southeast Asia; emphasizing that upgrading relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership opens a new chapter in bilateral relations; committing that Australia will always prioritize ODA support for Vietnam, especially in areas of Vietnam's need, such as climate change adaptation, energy transition, digital transformation, circular economy...
Expressing his impression of Vietnam's increasingly important position and role, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese affirmed his support for Vietnam to successfully assume the rotating chairmanship of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) in 2026 and support Vietnam to successfully organize APEC Year 2027.
