Over the past 17 years, Heart for Children has brought miracles to nearly 7,600 successful surgeries, organized screenings for nearly 190,000 children and mobilized more than 250 billion VND from the hearts of the community. From the first steps to today, the Program has become a sustainable fund, with a far-reaching influence, reaching thousands of families across the country.
Entering its 18th year, Heart for You marks a new milestone, expanding its scope of support to many other diseases, raising the age of beneficiaries and increasing the level of assistance, with the aspiration to heal more heartbeats for Vietnamese children.
Therefore, the Heart for You Gala is an opportunity to summarize the journey in 2025, introducing the important innovations of the program to audiences nationwide. At the same time, this is also a call for the community to continue spreading the humanistic meaning of Heart for You, joining hands to connect and promptly introduce cases in need of help so that the fund can get closer to hearts that are thirsting for life.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh expressed her emotion when attending the Gala to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the program "Heart for Children" - a program with a strong humanitarian character. From the pioneering spirit of VTV and the persistent social responsibility of Viettel , this journey has truly become a bridge connecting millions of hearts with thousands of less fortunate children.
The Vice President of the National Assembly emphasized that over the past 17 years, many miracles have been created thanks to the contributions of the community. Thanks to that contribution, the “Heart for Children” Program has mobilized more than 250 billion VND, conducted free screening for nearly 190,000 children nationwide and especially supported successful surgery for nearly 7,600 children with congenital heart disease. The weak heartbeats of the past have now joined life with healthy steps to school.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly respectfully acknowledged and highly appreciated the role of VTV - the unit that has spread love with its media strength, of Viettel - the enterprise that has devoted all its enthusiasm and social responsibility to accompany the program from the very beginning, along with the team of doctors, benefactors, businesses and all the kind-hearted people at home and abroad who are silently continuing the program's journey.
According to the Vice President of the National Assembly, every year, our country has 8,000 - 10,000 children born with congenital heart disease. In other words, every day there are still children waiting to be saved; there are still homes burdened with worries about what their children will be like tomorrow. Those little hearts cannot wait, and we, the adults, are not allowed to delay.
In recent years, the Party, the State and the National Assembly have always paid special attention to taking care of people's health, especially children, the green shoots of the country's future. Most recently, the Politburo issued Resolution 72, which emphasized the need for comprehensive innovation in people's health care, especially the consolidation and development of the preventive health system, ensuring that people, especially vulnerable groups and children, have access to timely examination, screening and treatment services. In the institution of Resolution 72, at the 10th Session, the National Assembly will pass the National Target Program on health care, population and development for the 2026-2035 period and the Law on Disease Prevention, aiming to perfect the legal corridor to proactively and sustainably protect public health.
Therefore, “Heart for Children” is not only a charity program, but also a part of the joint effort to realize the major policies of the Party, State and National Assembly; it is the resonance between public policy and social responsibility of enterprises, organizations and communities. Each child’s heart saved today is a healthy citizen of tomorrow, a seed of hope sown in the future of the country.
In this meaningful moment, the Vice President of the National Assembly called on organizations, businesses, donors and individuals to continue to accompany the program. A heart of sharing, a contribution, no matter how small, can save a life, can turn parents' anxious tears into happy smiles, and bring children back to the playground, classroom and life with a healthy heart.
The Vice President of the National Assembly shared that, while we are here to spread love, in recent days, the people of the Central region, especially in Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Gia Lai have experienced heavy floods. Therefore, our sharing today is not only for the children with fragile hearts, but also for the people of the Central region, where many families and children are struggling to overcome the consequences of floods and are in dire need of the community's protection and care.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly hopes that the business community, social organizations and kind-hearted people will continue to extend their arms to the people of the Central region with timely support in terms of medical care, necessities and essential resources, not only helping children overcome illness, but also giving hope to families to stand firm after losses caused by natural disasters.
The Gala program consists of 3 parts: magical sounds; a chorus of life's aspirations; melodies of love; and a brilliant song of joy. With the spread of music, the Gala brings the message - every healthy heartbeat is a new hope for the future. Behind the sparkling stage lights is the desire to continue joining hands so that no child is left behind, so that they can live, study and dream like their peers.
