Hung Yen Cheo Theater performs the Cheo play "Tong Tran

On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the People's Security Forces' Traditional Day (July 12, 1946 - July 12, 2024), the 62nd anniversary of the People's Police Forces' Traditional Day (July 20, 1962 - July 20, 2024), on the evening of July 12, Hung Yen Cheo Theater organized a performance of the play "Tong Tran - Cuc Hoa" at Ho Guom Theater ( Hanoi ).

The play "Tong Tran - Cuc Hoa" is based on a famous folk tale, with profound humanistic meaning. The content tells about the faithful and loyal love between Tong Tran - a poor, studious boy and Cuc Hoa - a girl from a rich family, loyal and devoted. According to legend, in the pre-Ly dynasty, in An Do commune, Vong Phan commune, Phu Dung district (now An Cau village, Tong Tran commune, Phu Cu district, Hung Yen province), there was a poor, studious scholar named Tong Tran, orphaned from a young age, had to take his mother away to make a living, and was loved by Cuc Hoa - the daughter of a rich man. Tong Tran passed the royal examination and married Cuc Hoa. The king sent Tong Tran as an envoy to the North. The king of the North, seeing that the scholar was young, showed contempt and wanted to test the talent of the scholar of the South. Tong Tran always answered questions well and was appointed "The Two-Country Royal Scholar", but because he refused to marry the daughter of the king of the North, he was punished. After 100 days of trials, the king of the North was even more impressed with Tong Tran's talent... At home, Cuc Hoa still waited for her husband and was filial to her mother-in-law. Even though her father forced her to marry a rich man, she remained faithful. After 10 years of being an ambassador, knowing that Cuc Hoa was still faithful and impressed with her qualities of "three obediences and four virtues", Tong Tran welcomed his wife back to reunite. Cuc Hoa was appointed "Quân phu nhân" by the king.
