“In our family, we often say: As if Uncle Ho was here on the day of great victory , it is a song of the people. My father always kept in mind that music only truly lives when it belongs to the community. Therefore, we decided to give all the rights to manage and use the song to Nhan Dan Newspaper.

This is how we continue that spirit: handing over the work to a public institution, which has the mission and capacity to preserve common values, so that the song can continue, be more durable and brighter" - Ms. Pham Hong Tuyen, daughter of musician Pham Tuyen shared at the reception ceremony.

Ms. Pham Hong Tuyen and her father were present early to hand over the song that millions of Vietnamese audiences know by heart. Although he is 95 years old and confined to a wheelchair due to old age and poor health, musician Pham Tuyen still wanted to witness the historic moment when he handed over his brainchild to Nhan Dan Newspaper, represented by Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh.

From now on, As if Uncle Ho were here on the day of great victory, not only will the management and usage rights be transferred, but a cultural commitment will also be made - to preserve, spread and renew the common heritage in a solemn, standard and sustainable way.

Written on the night of April 28, 1975 under the yellow light at the top of the stairs of the Khuong Thuong apartment complex, with only a pencil and a small piece of paper, the song was broadcast at 5:05 p.m. on April 30, 1975 on the Voice of Vietnam radio station , right after the historical news.

On May 2, 1975, Nhan Dan Newspaper printed the entire song, opening a journey from the newspaper pages to life: into schoolyards, homes, celebrations; crossing borders to Italy, the German Democratic Republic, the Soviet Union, Japan, Czechoslovakia... to tell the story of Vietnam in a language that everyone understands - the joy of independence and reunion.

The audience calls Nhu Co Bac Trong Day of Great Victory “the people’s song” for very simple reasons. It was sung at the right time when people needed a song to name their common happiness. It is simple enough for everyone to sing. And precise enough to speak on behalf of the community about gratitude to Uncle Ho, to the generations who sacrificed. It lives long in the most ordinary places: schoolyards, home kitchens, holiday alleys, where memories are passed on by voice and gaze.

Therefore, the decision to give the right to manage and use the song to Nhan Dan Newspaper is deeply symbolic: giving it back to the community through a public institution representing the voice of the people. The reception by Nhan Dan Newspaper is therefore not just a legal procedure but a promise to preserve and promote its value: ensuring that the song is performed in the right place, at the right time, in the right way; respecting the original and historical context; and at the same time opening up ways to introduce it to a young audience, so that the heritage does not become fossilized but continues to live in contemporary life.

Along with the work of protecting and managing copyrights properly, "people's songs" will continue to be sung properly, in the right place, maintaining their aesthetic qualities and the spirit of serving the Fatherland and the people.

Along with the decision to accept, Nhan Dan Newspaper affirmed that it will closely coordinate with IPCOM - AnnGroup in the role of legal representative and intellectual property management unit, to ensure that the protection and management of rights are carried out systematically, while organizing the exploitation and dissemination of the work according to the highest standards.
