Ninh Kieu district people unite to build a civilized urban area

Leaders of Ninh Kieu District Front and representatives of Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Can Tho City Branch presented gifts to near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances.

According to comrade Le Van Day, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Kieu District, in 2025, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Kieu District launched and organized the signing of emulation within the system of the Fronts of the wards to achieve achievements in welcoming the Party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. Through the launch, the District Front registered to carry out 4 projects and tasks: completing the program of building houses to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the district; mobilizing the construction of Great Unity houses; mobilizing people to contribute to the cost of upgrading alley 36, Hoang Quoc Viet Street, An Binh Ward; improving the quality of the construction of the model "Model residential area of ​​security, order, environmental sanitation, civilized urban area"; coordinating with the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Ninh Kieu District to organize a program of connecting love. The Fronts of the wards registered to carry out 61 projects and tasks: mobilizing people to upgrade alleys; implementing the national flag and lighting lines; building Great Unity houses; Implement "Self-managed roads and alleys to ensure environmental sanitation and urban landscape"; mobilize social resources to repair cultural houses in the area; restore urban order and environmental sanitation...

The projects and works contribute to urban beautification, contributing to making the urban appearance of Ninh Kieu increasingly prosperous. In particular, the upgraded alley 36 Hoang Quoc Viet street, An Binh ward is a testament to the practical actions of the Party committees, authorities, and the Fatherland Front in coordinating propaganda and mobilizing people to contribute 440 million VND for concrete on the alley surface and the State to invest in infrastructure and drainage systems worth more than 1.6 billion VND. Mr. Tran Van Sy, a resident of alley 36, said: "Previously, the alley surface was low, and every time it rained heavily, it caused flooding, affecting people's lives. Thanks to the State's investment and the people's contributions, the alley was upgraded to be high, clean, convenient for traffic, creating urban beauty."

Activities to care for people's lives have been carried out with attention by the Fatherland Front at all levels in the district. Since the beginning of the year, 9 households with housing difficulties in the district have been given houses with a total value of 620 million VND. During the Lunar New Year 2025, all levels have mobilized organizations and individuals to give gifts to poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households in the district with a total value of more than 10 billion VND. Ms. Lam Thi Nu, 67 years old, in An Binh ward shared: "My old house was degraded, life was difficult, my family did not have money to repair the house. Thanks to the support of officials at all levels to rebuild a new house, my family has a spacious place to live."

The work of participating in Party building and government building is focused on by the Front at all levels and socio-political organizations in the district. The Front at all levels in the district organizes meetings with voters with National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels to listen to voters' opinions and recommendations. The Front and socio-political organizations at all levels in the district proactively select content, subjects and preside over the supervision of many contents directly related to the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members, association members and people of all walks of life. The Front at all levels in the district organizes conferences to provide comments and social criticism on draft resolutions of the People's Council at the same level; attends direct dialogue meetings with citizens organized by the People's Committee; mobilizes affected households to hand over land for projects, ensuring the legitimate and legal rights and interests of citizens...
