The prevalence of uterine fibroids in Vietnamese women currently ranges from 10-20% in the reproductive age group. Globally, it is estimated that 70-80% of women may develop uterine fibroids during their lifetime.
High-risk groups include people who have never given birth, are overweight, sedentary, or have a family history of the disease.
In addition, factors such as hormonal disorders, early puberty and prolonged stress are also thought to contribute to increased risk of fibroid formation.
