AMC Vietnam Brand Development and Consulting Co., Ltd. is the unit assigned to preside over the Project of registering for protection, building and implementing the management system of the "Son La Pineapple " certification trademark. At the time of project implementation, the whole province had about 296 hectares of pineapple, concentrated in the districts of Quynh Nhai, Song Ma, Sop Cop, Muong La and Thuan Chau (old). Up to now, it has developed to more than 440 hectares of pineapple, with a yield of 20-35 tons/ha, with 3 main varieties: Queen, Cayenne and MD2.
Engineer Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, AMC Vietnam Brand Development and Consulting Co., Ltd. (Project Manager), informed: Under the close direction of the Department of Science and Technology of Son La, with the close coordination of departments, branches, localities and enterprises, after nearly 3 years of implementation, the project focused on implementing the registration of the certification trademark "Son La Pineapple"; developing documents and models for managing the certification trademark; developing tools for promoting and introducing products; organizing training and capacity building for pineapple producers and traders.
The project has developed regulations on the use of trademarks, quality control regulations, technical manuals, a set of forms to monitor the production process and many promotional tools, such as brand identity, traceability system, Facebook fanpage, TVC advertising and deployed to cooperatives and pineapple growing households. Along with that, 8 training courses were organized for 240 officials, farmers and production facilities; the training content focused on pineapple production techniques according to standards; management skills, use of certification marks, quality control, product promotion. From there, pineapple growers not only produce agricultural products but also become participants in the ecosystem of products, brands, and markets, laying the foundation for the development of branded, quality and sustainable agriculture .
Participating in the project, Huoi Mo Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative, Chieng Khuong Commune, was supported to build packaging and an impressive identity, helping consumers easily recognize and trust the product, thereby promoting consumption and increasing product value. Mr. Lo Van Ngoan, Director of the Cooperative, shared: The project has contributed to raising awareness among production households about the economic value of certified products, helping to improve awareness of maintaining product quality and reputation and making efforts to connect for mutual development. Currently, cooperative members not only grow, care for, and harvest but also know how to promote their pineapple products through social networks; safe production processes are shared, creating trust with consumers and increasing the value and economic efficiency of pineapple plants.
Good news when the product "Son La Pineapple" was officially granted a Certificate of Trademark Registration under Decision No. 155613/QD-SHTT dated November 27, 2024 of the Department of Intellectual Property. Mr. Nguyen Duy Hoang, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, said: The product "Son La Pineapple" being granted a certificate of trademark protection is the right direction in developing local agriculture associated with intellectual property value. From an unpopular agricultural product, Son La pineapple now has its own brand, a strict management system and great potential to expand. The "Son La Pineapple" certification mark not only helps consumers recognize and distinguish Son La pineapple products from other products, but is also an effective tool to promote, enhance the reputation and value of the product in the market.
The protection of the “Son La Pineapple” certification mark helps pineapple products to be strictly controlled in terms of origin and quality in compliance with safe production processes; opens up opportunities to increase value, expand markets, connect supply and demand to e-commerce platforms, gradually affirm the brand in the domestic market and expect future export markets.
