Implementing the Prime Minister 's Project 1336 on replicating the model of LTHTGN Clubs, from 2020 to 2025, the whole province has established 100 new Clubs, reaching more than 208% of the target according to the plan of the Provincial People's Committee (the task is to establish 48 Clubs), attracting more than 6,000 members to participate, bringing the total number of Clubs in the whole province to 115 Clubs with more than 8,500 members.
The establishment of 100 LTHTGN Clubs with more than 8,000 members, of which more than 70% are the elderly and nearly 30% are young people, shows that the model not only promotes the role of the elderly but also effectively implements intergenerational connections, in line with the project's orientation and in line with local realities.
Most members said that when joining the Club, they felt more confident, their health improved, their rights and benefits were guaranteed, thereby improving their quality of life both materially and spiritually.
The clubs have become effective models in promoting the role of the elderly, creating opportunities for them to exchange and share experiences, take care of their health, participate in economic , cultural and spiritual activities, contributing to improving the quality of life in the context of the current aging population.
The LTHTGN clubs have 8 areas of activity, including health care; income generation; spiritual support through cultural, artistic, entertainment, visiting and exchange activities; home care by club volunteers; self-help/community support; rights and benefits; resource building; raising awareness and knowledge in all aspects.
Regarding health care activities, 100% of club members have health insurance cards; every month, 95% of LTHTGN clubs monitor blood pressure and weight for members, 52% of clubs organize health check-ups for members, 100% of LTHTGN clubs have health clubs and maintain weekly exercise.
Communication activities to improve health and prevent non-communicable diseases are regularly maintained by the LTHTGN Clubs at regular meetings.
Most clubs focus on income-increasing activities, through lending capital to members, supporting members to borrow capital from other sources to increase production, start businesses, create jobs...
Currently, 73/115 clubs have income-increasing funds. From 2020 to 2025, more than 500 members of the LTHTGN clubs will be able to borrow capital from the clubs' income-increasing sources. More than 70% of members in need of loans will be supported by the clubs and the grassroots Elderly Associations to complete procedures for borrowing capital from other sources.
Self-help activities are maintained and implemented effectively. Members who encounter sudden difficulties are always assigned to groups and members by the club to help. With diverse forms of assistance such as visiting, supporting working days, cash..., members in difficulty are promptly encouraged both materially and spiritually.
The LTHTGN Club is a typical model, integrating many activities in the community-based care of the elderly, reducing the burden on the health and social welfare systems, contributing to the national goal of active and positive aging. The effectiveness of the LTHTGN Club has contributed to improving the quality of life of the elderly.
Continuing to replicate the model of the LTHTGN Club in the next phase, the province will strengthen propaganda work on the purpose, meaning, social effectiveness and humanity of the LTHTGN Club for all levels, sectors, people and the elderly, contributing to raising awareness, creating consensus, and actively responding to the replication of the Club model.
Strengthen management to improve the quality and efficiency of operations of 100% of established LTHTGN Clubs. Strengthen the leadership of Party committees and authorities at all levels in directing and leading the replication of the Club model, especially the role of the authorities in implementing Project 1336 of the Prime Minister and the plan of the Provincial People's Committee.
In addition, continue to promote the proactive role of the Association of the Elderly at all levels and the coordination and support of departments, branches and organizations to contribute to achieving and exceeding the goals and targets of replicating the Club model. Close and synchronous coordination in mobilizing resources to support the establishment of various funds to contribute to creating favorable conditions for the activities of the LTHTGN Clubs.
