The Miss International 2025 final took place in Japan with the participation of 80 contestants. Overcoming the evening gown, swimsuit and interview rounds, the Colombian representative convincingly won the crown.
Before that, Catalina Duque Abréu was always in the group of strong candidates and was predicted to win by international beauty sites. Missosology even awarded her a special award right before the final.
Catalina Duque Abréu is 1.80m tall, has a radiant face and a confident demeanor. She graduated in Social Communications from EAFIT University (Medellín, Colombia), and worked as a model before coming to Miss International.
The 26-year-old beauty participated in Miss Colombia 2024 and became the 4th Colombian beauty in history to be crowned Miss International.
Catalina spent her childhood in Miami, Florida (USA) before returning to Colombia to live. Besides her mother tongue, she is fluent in English and Portuguese. Her good academic background and fluent communication skills helped her score points with the judges.
During the question and answer session, when asked: "If you had to describe your experience at Miss International to your family and loved ones, what would you say?", she replied: "My family is here today, so I'm sharing directly with them."
"Before, I used to think that only the big moments mattered. But when I learned about Japanese culture, I learned about mono no aware - the beauty of small things. It's the way the autumn leaves fall and make everything beautiful, the way children hug me and smile, or every bowl of ramen I enjoy reminds me to appreciate life and enjoy every moment. I'm so grateful to be here and have had a wonderful time," the new beauty queen added.
The runner-up titles went to the following beauties: 1st runner-up - Zimbabwe, 2nd runner-up - Bolivia, 3rd runner-up - Indonesia, 4th runner-up - Philippines. Vietnam's representative - Kieu Duy - missed out on the top 20 of Miss International 2025 despite her efforts throughout the journey.
Miss International is one of the four major beauty pageants in the world , held annually since 1960 and maintained mainly in Japan. In 2024, Vietnamese representative Thanh Thuy surpassed 75 girls around the world to win the first Miss International crown for Vietnam.
