The Nursing Association of Thong Nhat General Hospital currently has 551 members. Of which, the number of members with postgraduate and university degrees accounts for 24.5%, the rest have college and high school degrees. Along with the general development of the hospital, the nursing team has been constantly striving to improve their professional qualifications, skills, medical ethics, and effectively coordinating the implementation of many new and advanced techniques, ensuring safety, aiming at patient satisfaction.
Through competitions for excellent nurses, midwives, and technicians, many new talents are discovered, nurtured, trained, and a team of successors who are both talented and professional is built. Every year, 6-10 scientific research topics conducted by nurses are accepted by the hospital's Science and Technology Council...
For many consecutive years, the Nursing Association of Thong Nhat General Hospital has been awarded certificates of merit by the Department of Health , the Provincial Nursing Association, and the Provincial Science and Technology Association for its outstanding achievements in building and developing the Dong Nai Provincial Nursing Association.
In addition to the advantages, the operation of the nursing team at the hospital also faces some difficulties. That is, the rate of nurses with university and postgraduate degrees is limited. The number of nurses is still lacking compared to the actual demand, leading to nurses having to work quite often. Meanwhile, the source of nurses to recruit is very scarce.
The hospital strives that by 2030, 80% of nurses and midwives will have a university degree or higher, and 90% of head nurses will have a postgraduate degree.
On this occasion, the congress elected the Executive Committee of the Nursing Association for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 11 individuals. Master Nguyen Do Thi Ngan Trang, Head of Nursing Department, was re-elected as Association President.
* Previously, Dong Nai Children's Hospital also held a congress of the Nursing Association for the 2025-2030 term and celebrated the 60th anniversary of International Nursing Day.
Speaking at the congress, Master Huynh Tu Anh highly appreciated the results that the hospital's nursing team has achieved in recent times. Especially, in the context of the health sector being under a lot of pressure from epidemics, lack of human resources, high work intensity, but with a spirit of dedication, responsibility and solidarity, the nursing team has always strived to fulfill the task of caring for patients.
Master Huynh Tu Anh suggested that the hospital make more efforts to build a nursing team that is increasingly strong in both quantity and quality.
