Many tourist destinations "explode" with visitors during the September 2 holiday

During the first two days of the National Day holiday on September 2, the number of visitors recorded at many tourist areas and spots across the country increased. In particular, the capital Hanoi recorded a record number of visitors at many entertainment spots.

Hanoi: Many tourist attractions are crowded with visitors

This year's 2-9 National Day holiday lasts 4 days, Hanoi is the center of organizing a series of events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day 2-9, especially the parade, so the number of visitors is very large. This year, many Hanoians choose to stay in the capital to participate in events and activities to celebrate National Day. Besides, Hanoi also welcomes a large number of visitors from other localities.

Currently, the Hanoi Department of Tourism has not had official statistics on the number of visitors during the first days of the holiday, but according to records at tourist attractions, exhibitions and outdoor events, the number of visitors participating is very large.

Typically, the National Achievements Exhibition with the theme "80 years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" at the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh Commune, Hanoi) recorded about 1.5 million visitors, showing the public's interest in the Exhibition. Particularly during the holidays, from August 30 and 31, the Exhibition welcomed more than 500,000 visitors each day, the booths all recorded a large number of visitors, including many delegations from provinces and cities to Hanoi.

As a visitor to the Exhibition on August 31, Mr. Nguyen The Nghia (Quang Ninh) said that he and his friends went to Hanoi to take a holiday on September 2 to watch the parade, march and Exhibition. His group arrived at the National Achievements Exhibition from 7am, when there were already many people waiting for the door to open. “We were very impressed with the National Achievements Exhibition. The exhibition spaces are very large and have many modern displays with attractive content, especially the area displaying military equipment of the Vietnam People's Army and Public Security,” Mr. Nghia shared.

During the holiday, many tourist attractions in Hanoi also recorded a large number of visitors. In response to the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2, the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center organized free services for visitors on September 1 and 2, including: free tickets to visit the heritage and free water puppet shows at 11:00, 15:00 and 16:00. At the same time, the unit also coordinated to distribute drinking water and milk products to serve people and tourists visiting the Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

Ms. Nguyen Minh Thu, Head of the Guide and Interpretation Department of the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, said that in addition to free activities, the exhibition spaces in strategic tunnels such as D67, the Secret Tunnel at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, and the Hanoi Flag Tower attract a lot of visitors to visit and check-in. Free water puppetry activities have been maintained for many years with the aim of preserving and spreading the traditional cultural values ​​of the nation, while enhancing the experience for visitors to the Imperial Citadel.

Revolutionary relic sites such as Ba Dinh Square, Hoa Lo Prison, and House No. 48 Hang Ngang (where President Ho Chi Minh wrote the Declaration of Independence) which have just reopened after a period of restoration also welcome many visitors. Ms. Tran Thu Trang (Dai Mo Ward) said that taking advantage of the holiday, she took her children to visit many historical and revolutionary relic sites such as Ba Dinh Square - where the parade will take place on September 2, House No. 48 Hang Ngang... so that the children can better understand the history of the nation and feel the atmosphere of the Great Festival.

“The tourist attractions we visited were all very crowded. There were many places where we had to wait in line, but we were still very excited because everyone wanted to join in the joy of the whole nation on this big holiday,” Trang said.

Many localities are bustling to welcome visitors

Not only Hanoi, many other localities across the country also recorded an "explosive" number of visitors during the September 2nd holiday this year.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City said that during the National Day holiday on September 2 this year, the number of visitors to the city is expected to increase significantly compared to the same period in 2024. The average room occupancy rate of accommodation establishments is from 55 - 60%.

During the 5 peak days (August 29 to September 2), Da Nang International Airport is expected to receive about 730 flights, an average of 146 flights/day, an increase of 25.9% over the same period last year. Prominent tourist areas and destinations such as Sun World Ba Na Hills, Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park, Mikazuki, 365 Water Park, VinWonders Nam Hoi An and Hoi An Ancient Town recorded a large number of visitors.

On this occasion, Da Nang city organized about 50 cultural, artistic and sports activities, notably the art program "Da Nang Concerts" taking place on the evening of September 2 at the front of Da Nang Museum; organized free tickets to visit Ngu Hanh Son and the museum system in the area on September 2.

Meanwhile, Hue city is expected to welcome about 196,000 visitors during the National Day holiday on September 2, an increase of more than 50% over the same period. Many special cultural, sports and tourism activities will be held on this occasion to serve the people and tourists. To attract visitors, Hue city organizes many attractive stimulus events such as: Hue Nam Palace Festival (Hon Chen Palace) from August 30 to September 1 and a free admission policy to visit relics; Traditional boat racing on the Perfume River on September 2; a special art program celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day and high-altitude fireworks display at Ngo Mon Square on the evening of September 2.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province, in the first two days of the National Day holiday on September 2 (August 30 and 31), the number of tourists to Quang Ninh is estimated at 211,000. Of which, international visitors reached 34,000; overnight guests reached 83,400, total tourism revenue reached 580 billion VND. Although compared to previous years, the number of visitors to Quang Ninh decreased slightly due to difficulties caused by natural disasters, this locality also showed efforts to attract visitors again.

During this year’s holiday, Quang Ninh organized an art program with the theme “Quang Ninh – 80 years of glorious journey with the country” at Sun Carnival Square, Bai Chay Ward, attracting more than 10,000 people; many overnight cruises had discounts of 10-30% with many incentives.

According to experts, from now until the end of the holiday, the number of tourists is forecast to continue to increase at tourist areas and destinations across the country. Hanoi continues to attract a large number of visitors during the holiday.
