Hanoi: Schools and offices open to support people and tourists

On September 1, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 12/CD-CT on strengthening the work of ensuring security, order, environmental sanitation and supporting people and tourists to participate in and follow the activities of the ceremony, parade, and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The telegram stated that during the joint training, preliminary rehearsal, and final rehearsal, schools and agency headquarters in the city opened their doors to support people and tourists with places to stop, rest, and use personal hygiene.

However, according to the national hydro-meteorological forecast, Hanoi's weather during the peak days of the National Day holiday on September 2nd will be complicated, with localized heavy rain, affecting travel, daily life and safety of people, especially in the central area of Ba Dinh Square, where many tourists and people gather to participate in commemorative activities.

To proactively and promptly support people and tourists and ensure safety, maintain order, environmental sanitation... contributing to the successful organization of the Anniversary, parade, and march, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Director of the Department of Education and Training, heads of agencies, offices, Chairmen of the People's Committees of wards and communes to direct educational institutions, cultural houses, community activity houses, headquarters of state agencies and offices to open, arrange stops, rest areas, shelter from the rain and sun, and personal hygiene to serve people and tourists in the areas of the routes where the parade and march pass... ensuring friendliness, respect, and hospitality.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment directed environmental sanitation units to coordinate with local authorities to arrange permanent forces to collect waste and maintain environmental sanitation at open points for people to take shelter from the rain.

The city police directed forces to increase patrols, maintain security and order, prevent encroachment on roads and sidewalks, and ensure traffic safety on routes where parades and processions pass.

The city requests people and tourists to practice a civilized lifestyle, strictly comply with regulations, maintain order and environmental sanitation, and coordinate with local authorities and functional forces during the process of participating in and watching the Anniversary Ceremony, parade, and march.

The City requests Directors of Departments and Branches: Education and Training, Agriculture and Environment, City Police; Heads of agencies, units, Chairmen of People's Committees of wards, communes, educational institutions in the city and related units to urgently implement.
