In the capital Vientiane, the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos opened a photo exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
The exhibition displays nearly 300 works with bilingual subtitles in Vietnamese and Lao, designed to create a vivid visual story about the outstanding events in the resistance war for national salvation of the Vietnamese people, culminating in the Great Victory in Spring 1975; images of the special solidarity alliance between Vietnam and Laos, including images of the leaders of the two Parties and two countries, volunteer military experts and people of the two countries who stood side by side in the most difficult moments of the history of the two nations. The exhibition also introduces the achievements of the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Laos.
The opening ceremony was attended by nearly 300 guests, including leaders and officials of Lao ministries and branches; associations, schools, officials of the Embassy and agencies attached to the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos; news agencies and newspapers of the two countries, and the Vietnamese community in Laos.
The exhibition displays nearly 300 works with Vietnamese and Lao subtitles.
Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam emphasized the great significance of the April 30 victory, affirming that this is a historical milestone of the Vietnamese nation, and at the same time a typical victory of the world's revolutionary forces, contributing to strongly promoting the struggle of the world's people for the goal of independence, peace, democracy and social progress; encouraging and motivating the peoples who are carrying out the cause of national liberation and fighting against imperialism, including the brotherly Lao people.
The exhibition not only aims to pay tribute to the contributions and sacrifices of previous generations, but also contributes to strengthening and developing the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos. The event will last until April 30.

Mr. Tung Lam called on those who are far from their homeland to always remember, carry within themselves national pride, deep gratitude towards the previous generation and above all, a sense of responsibility to inherit and promote the noble values of peace and independence.
Within the framework of the program, delegates and all students were moved by precious documentary footage recording the sacred historical moment at noon on April 30, 1975, when tank number 843 of the Liberation Army of South Vietnam crashed through the gate of the Independence Palace, ending the victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country.
Continuing the program, delegates watched the historical film "The Scent of Burning Grass", set in the context of the 81-day and night battle in Quang Tri Citadel, together analyzing the film's content, relating it to reality and drawing lessons about patriotism, civic responsibility and the aspiration to serve the Fatherland in the new era.
The event is a key activity in the propaganda work in 2025, and is also the highlight of the series of projects on political and artistic films to innovate the method of political and ideological education, arousing patriotism and national pride in the community of Vietnamese youth and students in Russia.

The Ambassador believes that the Vietnam Corner at this prestigious library is a cultural bridge that brings the Vietnamese people closer to Indian readers, researchers and policy makers. In the book collection donated to the library this time, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai especially emphasized the iconic book "A Thousand Years of Vietnamese National Culture", compiled and published by the Truth National Political Publishing House in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Through this meaningful gift, the Ambassador hopes that Indian friends will have a deeper understanding of Vietnam's heritage and the country's identity formed over millennia.

The Central Secretariat Library is one of the oldest libraries of the Government of India and the second largest library in the central library system. The Vietnam Corner here was inaugurated on December 29, 2017. Vietnam is the only country to have a separate room in this library. To date, the Vietnam Corner has provided readers with access to over 500 books and documents on the history, culture, geography of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh and the time-tested relationship between Vietnam and India.
