Many attractive art activities at the 2025 International Experimental Theatre Festival in Ninh Binh

The Festival was attended by 400 artists and actors from 10 international art troupes and 19 domestic art troupes. The performances took place at two locations: Pham Thi Tran Theater and the Provincial Convention Center.

Street parade before the Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony will take place at 8:10 p.m. on November 20, 2025 at Pham Thi Tran Theater, Hoa Lu Ward. Before that, from 3 p.m. on the same day, art troupes will participate in a street parade in the Theater area. This is a vibrant opening highlight, attracting the attention of locals and tourists.

Participating in the parade are many typical art units such as Vietnam Circus Federation, Thang Long Puppetry Theatre, Hanoi Cheo Theatre, Ninh Binh Traditional Art Theatre, Hai Phong Art Troupe, Sen Viet Troupe, Emmy Dance Group and international art troupes from Mongolia, Poland... The diverse combination of art forms will bring the audience new experiences right on the street, from bustling festival drums, colorful dragon and lion dances, spontaneous interactive circus acts to the art of water puppetry, mask puppetry, and typical belly puppetry. All promise to create a vibrant and attractive art space, demonstrating the spirit of exchange and convergence of domestic and international stages.

Along with the competitions, many art troupes will perform for the people at locations in the province such as: Hoa Lu Ancient Town; Cultural House 3-2 Nam Dinh Ward; Cultural House Phu Ly Ward; Duy Tan Ward; Tran Thuong Commune; Hai Hau Commune. These performances will contribute to bringing the performing arts closer to the public, creating conditions for local people to enjoy diverse and quality performances, while spreading the vibrant atmosphere of the Festival to the community.

Major cultural and artistic event, held for the first time in Ninh Binh

The International Experimental Theatre Festival is an important cultural and artistic activity to introduce and honor theatrical works with new ideological, artistic and creative values of Vietnam and the world. The event creates an environment for exchange and sharing of experiences between domestic artists and international friends; at the same time, contributes to promoting the image, culture and people of Ninh Binh province to the general public.

2025 is the first time the Festival is held in Ninh Binh, opening up opportunities for the locality to affirm its position and potential in developing professional artistic activities and international integration.
