Sharing with Dan Viet Newspaper, Dr. To Minh Nhat, born in 1996, announced the good news that he has graduated with a PhD in April 2024. A former student of Duc Pho High School No. 1, the boy from Quang Ngai is a laurel winner and a runner-up in the Road to Olympia competition.
Nhat said: "For me, the Olympia program is just a knowledge playground for students. So stopping at the monthly round left many regrets, but at least I made friends with many talented people from all over the country (and still keep in touch until now). After the Olympia program, I became more known to people, and had many connections with the Olympia community, but overall, my life has not changed much."
In fact, Minh Nhat has achieved many remarkable achievements. In 2014, Minh Nhat was admitted to two prestigious universities, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Group A) and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Group B), with the same score of 28. Because of his love for the movie "Iron Man", Nhat has a passion for flying robots in the sky, so he decided to study at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, National University.
After that, the male student graduated as valedictorian in the Aeronautical Engineering major, won a Gold Medal from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, was admitted directly to a PhD program and completed his thesis in 3 years at the French National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (ISAE-Supaero).

Never stop learning to gain more knowledge
Dr. Nhat added: "Life in France in the early stages was not easy with limited French. In particular, the time I came to France was also the peak of Covid-19. I had to adapt to a strange environment, many things were new, the weather and food were not the same as in Vietnam and I no longer had family and many friends around. The language barrier also made it more difficult to acquire knowledge and make friends. Therefore, I had to try very hard.
Now, after 4 years in France, I have somewhat integrated into life here, connected with many international friends to learn good things from them."

The reason for choosing France as a destination for his doctoral studies, Minh Nhat said: "Partly because the Vietnam-France PFIEV joint program at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has a similar training program to France and allows direct study for a PhD. France is also a powerhouse in aviation with many large companies such as Airbus, Safran, Thales, Dassault Aviation... This is the field I am passionate about and pursuing. Besides, I had the opportunity to do an internship for 6 months before in France, being exposed to theeducation here, I felt it was suitable and wanted to experience it more deeply. In particular, France in particular and Europe in general are very beautiful".
Minh Nhat has just graduated and has been working for nearly a year, so his future plan is to continue studying to improve.
"In the short term, I want to learn as much as possible about advanced technologies in your country, maybe in another department, another airline company or maybe another country. I feel that I am not good enough and not experienced enough, but in the more distant future, I always hope to have the opportunity to return to Vietnam to contribute."
