On the morning of June 19, the Department of Military Training - School held a press conference to introduce military recruitment work in 2025.
33,205 qualified applications
In 2025, military academies and officer schools will enroll more than 4,200 students to train university-level officers at 17 units. In addition, 4 officer schools and colleges will enroll 150 students to train technical and professional staff; the Air Force Officer School alone will enroll both university and college students.
This year, there are 33,205 qualified applications for admission to 20 military academies and schools, an increase of nearly 42% compared to 2024.
The schools with the highest number of applications are the Political Officer School with more than 6,700 applications; the Military Technical Academy with nearly 5,000 applications; the Border Guard Academy with more than 3,500 applications and the Military Medical Academy with more than 3,200 applications.
In 2025, military schools will implement 3 admission methods, including:
Method 1 : Direct admission, priority admission according to university admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, regulations of the Ministry of National Defense .
Method 2 : Admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025.
Method 3 : Admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.
Candidates can register to participate in all admission methods.
Which cases are recruited directly?
Military schools conduct direct admission for subjects according to the provisions of Article 8 of the university admission regulations. Including: Labor heroes, People's Armed Forces heroes, and national emulation fighters who have graduated from high school.
Candidates who won first, second, or third prizes in national or international competitions for excellent students or national or international science and technology competitions organized and sent to participate by the Ministry of Education and Training; the time of winning the prize must not exceed 3 years from the time of direct admission.

Candidates are ethnic minorities with very few people according to current regulations of the Government and candidates from 20 poor border and island districts in the Southwest region.
Candidates who have had a permanent residence for 3 years or more, studied for 3 years and graduated from high school in poor districts (boarding students of ethnic minorities are calculated based on their permanent residence) according to regulations of the Government and Prime Minister.
Priority is given to candidates who have won national and international prizes but have not used their right to direct admission, and candidates who have won consolation prizes in national competitions for excellent students; and candidates who have won fourth prizes in national science and technology competitions.
In addition, the Military Training Department - School also notes that candidates need to carefully research the admission information of the schools, fully and accurately declare the exam registration information according to the school's requirements.
Schools will announce the admission results (list in order of highest and lowest) on the school's website, the Ministry of National Defense's electronic information portal and mass media.
In particular, all successful candidates must complete the first round of online admission confirmation on the general admission support system, no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 30, 2025.
