On November 16, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense , came to celebrate the National Great Unity Day with the people of Dong residential group (Linh Son ward, Thai Nguyen province).
Sharing joy with the people at the Festival, General Phan Van Giang congratulated the proud results in building a united and developed community in recent times, and emphasized that great national unity is a precious tradition of our nation. Our Party and President Ho Chi Minh always attach importance to building, consolidating and expanding the great national unity bloc. Through the Vietnam Fatherland Front, together with its member organizations, the tradition of patriotism and the spirit of solidarity of ethnic groups and religions in the whole country are increasingly consolidated, enhanced and promoted.
General Phan Van Giang affirmed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front is always the center of the great national unity bloc, a bridge of trust between the people and Party committees and authorities at all levels, and one of the decisive factors for the victory of the revolution and the cause of national construction and development, to continue promoting the achieved results.
The General requested all levels, sectors and people of Thai Nguyen to continue to strengthen propaganda, thoroughly grasp the Party's viewpoints, policies and guidelines, the State's policies and laws; pay attention to social security work and people's lives; strongly promote the patriotic emulation movement, promptly commend, honor and replicate advanced models, arouse the desire to contribute and the spirit of creativity in all classes of people.
General Phan Van Giang hopes that each resident of Linh Son ward will continue to uphold the spirit of determination to build an increasingly rich and civilized homeland; build a clean and strong Party organization, government and political system, consolidate the great national unity bloc, build a solid people's heart position, contribute to maintaining political security, social order and safety, and create a stable foundation for sustainable development.
General Phan Van Giang expressed his belief that with the tradition of solidarity, studiousness and revolution, together with the close leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, the efforts of the Party Committee and the government, and the consensus of the people, the residential area of Dong residential group in particular, Linh Son ward and Thai Nguyen province in general will continue to develop strongly, becoming a bright spot in terms of economy, society, national defense, security, culture and people in the new era.
Dong residential group currently has over 380 households with nearly 1,330 people, including 5 ethnic groups living together. The main occupation of the people in the residential group is trade and services; 100% of households have solid and durable houses; 100% of households have electricity; roads are renovated and concreted for convenient travel. The group has a spacious and clean cultural house for community activities. The number of households with a good economy or better accounts for over 80%, with households having an income of 500-900 million VND/year.
In 2025, 99.1% of households in the group achieved the title of "Cultural Family", 100% of the mass organizations were assessed as strong, and the residential group was recognized as a typical cultural residential area. People in the group always actively participate in environmental protection activities and respond to climate change.
In particular, in 2025, local people voluntarily contributed nearly 700 million VND and donated 250 square meters of land, worth 2.5 billion VND, to demolish gates and fences to widen residential roads. The group also regularly mobilizes people to clean up, not litter, maintain good implementation of "Green Sunday" and the "Bright-green-clean-beautiful" road model.
On this occasion, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense presented 100 gifts to policy households, near-poor households, households in especially difficult circumstances, and households affected by natural disasters in Linh Son ward and Dong residential group.
The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front presented gifts to 10 outstanding families; the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Nguyen province and Linh Son ward also presented many meaningful gifts at the Festival.
Immediately after the ceremony, General Phan Van Giang and delegates visited the "Sharing wardrobe, connecting love" model of the Women's Union of the ward and the "My vegetable bed" model of the Farmers' Association of Linh Son ward, participating in cultural and artistic activities with the people of Dong residential group./.
