Many positive signals from Da Nang business community

DNVN - According to the Da Nang Statistics Office, the business situation in the city has recently recorded many positive signals with a sharp increase in the number of newly established businesses, along with a significant increase in total registered capital.

According to the Da Nang Statistical Office, in the first 8 months of 2025 (as of August 21, 2025), the city has newly granted registration certificates to 4,326 enterprises, branches and representative offices (DN) with a total charter capital of nearly 18,400 billion VND; an increase of more than 21% in the number of enterprises and an increase of more than 42% in capital compared to the same period in 2024.

According to the Da Nang Statistical Office, this improvement reflects the confidence and expectations of the business community and investors in the prospects of socio -economic development; especially in the context that Da Nang is promoting investment attraction, improving the business environment and encouraging innovation.

The trend of starting a business and expanding production and business scale in Da Nang continues to be strongly promoted, associated with the city's efforts to improve the investment environment, simplify administrative procedures and support businesses in accessing development resources.

However, a number of enterprises still face great pressure on costs, markets and adaptability, leading to temporary suspension or exit from the market. In the past 8 months, 1,651 enterprises have returned to operation, down 7.35%; 5,384 enterprises have temporarily suspended operations, up more than 15%; 850 enterprises have completed dissolution procedures, up nearly 30% over the same period in 2024.

In terms of industry structure, the wholesale and retail sector; repair of automobiles, motorcycles, motorbikes and other motor vehicles continues to account for the largest proportion of the total number of newly established enterprises, but at the same time is also the sector recording the highest number of dissolved enterprises.

This reality shows that the picture of business development in Da Nang is two-way. On the one hand, it affirms the attractiveness and potential for market expansion, on the other hand, it reflects the selective nature when only businesses with sufficient competitiveness, adaptability and development strategy can survive and develop in the long term.

“The increase in the number of enterprises temporarily suspending operations and dissolving shows the competitive pressures and difficulties in maintaining production and business. The overall picture is both positive and raises the need for timely support policies to help enterprises stabilize and develop sustainably in the coming time,” said the Da Nang Statistical Office.

The agency said that, with its pioneering role in promoting innovation in the Central region, Da Nang City continues to affirm its determination to build a favorable startup environment, focusing on perfecting the policy framework, increasing financial support, training human resources and expanding opportunities to access international markets.

On July 30, the Danang Innovation and Startup Festival - SURF 2025 took place with the theme "Policy Launchpad - Nurturing Unicorns". This is a large-scale annual event, creating a forum connecting the government, businesses, investors and the startup community. At the same time, it is an opportunity for innovative products and ideas to be introduced and widely promoted to the public and the international market.

Da Nang also focuses on removing the biggest “bottleneck” of startups, which is product output. The city has launched a meeting program called “Startup Product Trade Journey”, aiming to build a substantial support mechanism to help businesses develop products that meet market demand and reach customers quickly. Thereby creating momentum for the sustainable development of the innovative startup ecosystem.
