According to preliminary statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Ha Long City, many schools had their garage roofs blown off, water tanks blown and dropped, many classroom glass doors were torn off, garage walls collapsed... Storm Yagi also paralyzed wifi and internet systems, disrupting information connections.
Among these, Quang La Kindergarten - Dan Chu had its entire corrugated iron roof blown away; the entire corrugated iron roof of the central school stage, the Fairy Garden, the Creative Playground collapsed, and the schools in the Dan Chu area were severely damaged.
The Ha Long City Vocational and Continuing Education Center had its entire two-story roof system blown away, covering an area of about 600 square meters; all the wooden windows were broken, the entire classroom area leaked and cracked, 7 classrooms could not be used on rainy days, the toilet system was completely broken, and the main office building was leaking and could not be used.
Kim Dong Secondary School had its roof blown off in the administration area and the school area; windows in many classrooms were broken and damaged; water was flowing everywhere and the classrooms could not be restored yet...
The area of the Kim Dong Secondary School Headquarters had almost all of its tiled roof blown off.
Currently, schools in Ha Long City are actively coordinating with local authorities, departments, branches and organizations to assess the damage and propose early solutions to ensure conditions for students to return to school.
