The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has just issued a notice on the selling price of gold bars on June 3. Accordingly, based on the plan to sell SJC gold bars directly to 4 State Commercial Banks (SCBs) and Saigon Jewelry Company Limited (SJC) approved by the Governor of the SBV, the direct selling price of SJC gold bars on June 3, 2024 is 78.98 million VND/tael.
At the same time, the State Bank said it will continue to implement the roadmap to narrow the gap between the domestic selling price of SJC gold bars and the world price.
Previously, the State Bank of Vietnam informed that Saigon Jewelry Company Limited - SJC will participate in buying gold from the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) to sell directly to people.
The expected time for selling gold is from 2:30 p.m. this afternoon (June 3), State-owned commercial banks will start selling SJC gold bars to individual customers. From June 4, 2024, State-owned commercial banks will start selling gold from 9:00 a.m.
Regarding the gold selling price, the State Bank said that the selling price at the units will be based on the gold bar purchase price from the State Bank. State-owned commercial banks and SJC Company will determine and announce the selling price of SJC gold bars on the websites of state-owned commercial banks and SJC Company and at the above gold selling locations.
The direct selling price of SJC gold bars on June 3, 2024 is 78.98 million VND/tael.
When buying gold, customers bring their required identification documents directly to the above gold selling locations to make transactions, make payments in cash or by bank transfer and receive gold immediately. Sales invoices are provided to customers buying gold in the form of electronic invoices.
The State Bank of Vietnam noted that state-owned commercial banks only sell SJC gold bars to individual customers and do not buy SJC gold bars from customers. SJC Company conducts all transactions of buying and selling SJC gold bars.
The State Bank also emphasized that the sale of gold by state-owned commercial banks and SJC Company is to ensure the implementation of the goal of stabilizing the gold market according to the policy of the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam, not for profit purposes.
In case of planning to buy gold in large quantities, to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering regulations, customers should prepare information to declare or open an account at a state-owned commercial bank before the transaction or make payment by bank transfer for convenience and speed in the transaction.
Previously, four state-owned banks announced 16 locations where people can go to trade gold bars in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Of which, Vietcombank is the bank with the most gold selling locations (6 locations), followed by VietinBank (4 locations). Agribank and BIDV only sell gold at three transaction points.
Along with the Big4 group, SJC will also sell gold bars at 16 locations in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Ha Long (Quang Ninh), Nha Trang, Hue, Quang Ngai, Bien Hoa (Dong Nai), Can Tho, Bac Lieu and Ca Mau .
