Outstanding Party members in Ho Chi Minh City

We met Mr. Phan Sy Hung, Secretary of the Party Branch of Ward 1, Party Committee of Ward 11 (Phu Nhuan District Party Committee), when he and the Party branch committee of Ward 1 were mobilizing benefactors to prepare Tet gifts for families, especially those in difficult circumstances.

Since retiring, Mr. Phan Sy Hung has served as the Party Secretary of the neighborhood for 13 years. Every day, he cycles through the alleys in the area to monitor the situation, especially regarding environmental sanitation and public order.

Previously, the intersection of Tran Huu Trang and Ho Bieu Chanh streets was always plagued by littering, causing environmental pollution and detracting from urban aesthetics. Aware of the situation, he discussed it with the Party committee and then proposed to the People's Committee of the ward to install cameras in the area.

Shortly after installing surveillance cameras, the neighborhood discovered someone littering in the wrong place. “We met with this person to educate them, explaining that their actions were wrong and were polluting the neighborhood.”

Since then, the area has been free of illegal dumpsites; on the contrary, Tran Huu Trang street has become a model of "civilized and aesthetically pleasing urban area," Mr. Hung recalled.

Mr. Hung further shared that, as the Party Branch Secretary, he always strives to fulfill his duties well with a high sense of responsibility, always promoting the unity of the Party Committee and the collective of Party members in the branch. He always sets a good example and takes the lead in mobilizing Party members, association members, and the people to agree on and effectively implement the plans and tasks deployed by the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the ward.

Therefore, whenever Mr. Hung takes action, everything is resolved smoothly and efficiently because he has earned the trust and affection of most of the residents in Ward 1.

The name Vu Thi Nguyet is probably no longer unfamiliar to the people of Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City, especially during the severe Covid-19 outbreak in 2021.

Prior to October 2021, Ms. Nguyet was a Standing Committee Member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Binh District and was assigned to oversee propaganda, organization, and emulation-reward activities. Being energetic and enthusiastic in her work with the Fatherland Front, Ms. Nguyet always strived to fulfill her assigned duties.

Every year, the area she is in charge of consistently has 10-15 effective models, initiatives, and solutions recognized by the specialized committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

These include several exemplary models and initiatives such as: establishing a "Group for engaging with public opinion on social media"; the model "Each Front official is a social media reporter"; the model "Each Front official is a soldier, each Front official's family is a positive factor in the anti-epidemic fortress"; and the solution "Improving the quality and effectiveness of professional training for Front officials through competitions,"...

“When the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in Ho Chi Minh City in 2021, I personally contacted temples, philanthropists, and friends to mobilize more than 110 tons of goods to care for people in difficult circumstances, poor children, orphans, and frontline workers fighting the pandemic,” Ms. Nguyet recounted.

She also mobilized people to take care of officials, soldiers, and medical staff at several checkpoints and field hospitals with a budget of over 30 million VND; and mobilized 60 gift packages and over 200 kg of green vegetables to care for 60 construction workers stranded at Nguyen Khuyen Primary School...

From November 2021 to the present, she has been assigned to work at the Propaganda Department of the Tan Binh District Party Committee, where she is tasked with advising on propaganda work, public opinion, and implementing the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style.

Working in a new environment, Ms. Nguyet quickly adapted to the job and offered many effective solutions in propaganda work, most notably the solution to promote the construction of the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space to spread to all levels of people in the district.

She advised the leadership of the District Party Committee's Propaganda Department to organize the signing of a cooperation plan with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district on disseminating information about building the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space to all sectors of the population; and to sign a cooperation plan with the District Labor Union and the District Business Association on disseminating information about building the Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space to state-owned and private enterprises, for the period 2023-2025.

Not stopping there, Ms. Vu Thi Nguyet also advised on organizing a thematic conference on "The current situation, solutions and experiences in implementing the construction of Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space in the district over the past period," attracting many reports, presentations and speeches from grassroots Party committees, agencies, and units, in order to find suitable solutions to build an effective and practical Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space that is increasingly deeply ingrained in every citizen.

Regardless of her work environment, Ms. Nguyet has consistently demonstrated the exemplary role of a Party member, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to the common good. It is this sense of responsibility and dedication that has earned her the title of outstanding Party member for five consecutive years (2019-2023).

At the 2023 year-end commendation ceremony for outstanding Party members, Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Head of the Organization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, noted that each outstanding Party member has different circumstances and conditions, but they all share a common trait: a sense of responsibility as Party members, enthusiasm for the development of their agencies, units, communities, and the development of the city.

That is Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh, born in 1944, a Party member of Branch 4A, Quarter 4, Hiep Binh Chanh Ward, Thu Duc District. Despite her advanced age, she always seeks to learn, research, and invest in her work to serve the people.

That is physician Trang Hong Chau, born in 1954, a Party member and veteran of the Party Branch of Ward 3, Precinct 6, District 8, who, along with other Party members and neighborhood organizations, mobilized the people to contribute 100% of the funds to upgrade alleys 1590 and 1598 Pham The Hien, making them clean and beautiful.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Ngoc, born in 1979, Party Committee member and Specialist at the Office of the People's Committee of District 12, has always proactively advised the District People's Committee on the effective implementation of administrative procedure reform, increasing the rate of receiving and resolving administrative dossiers through the public service portal; promptly advising, compiling reports, and documents to implement tasks according to the program, plan, and directives of the City People's Committee on administrative reform and control of administrative procedures to the units.

Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc stated that the exemplary conduct and innovative, effective actions of outstanding Party members will inspire cadres, Party members, and the people to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws. Party members in general, and outstanding Party members in particular, must always remain steadfast, deeply involved in practical matters, listen to and absorb the opinions of the people, and thereby propose to Party committees and authorities at all levels appropriate decisions that reflect objective reality and the legitimate aspirations of cadres, Party members, and the people, contributing to the city's new development.
