"The troubadour" Trinh Son Truyen in the music night "Yellow flowers several times" at Laika Café. |
Not choosing a big stage or bright lights, "The Wanderer" Trinh Son Truyen brings music with simplicity, rusticity and sincerity.
He - a son of Hanoi , has traveled for many years across the country, performing Trinh's songs in his own way: close, everyday but profound.
Arriving in Thai Nguyen , Trinh Son Truyen chose two stops: Laika Café, an open space, and Trinh Quan, where Trinh music lovers often come to "escape" from the hustle and bustle of life.
On both nights, he had only his guitar, a few yellow lights, and people listening quietly. “I don’t sing Trinh songs to be sad, but to slow down, to remind myself that love is something that never gets old,” Trinh Son Truyen shared before the performance.
At Laika Café, the first night had the theme “Yellow flowers several times” with “White summer”, “Dust”, “Lullaby to us”, his soft, hoarse voice echoed in the small space, each sentence, each word seemed to pour into the hearts of the listeners.

Music night "Hey, do you remember" at Trinh Quan. |
The audience was not noisy, did not clap loudly, just nodded, smiled, and some gently wiped away tears. The second night at Trinh Quan had a different tone. With “Hey, do you remember?”, “The wandering singer” recounted the stories he met on the road - people who found peace thanks to Trinh’s music, stories that few people know about musician Trinh Cong Son and his songs.
He said: “Trinh’s music is not about technique, but it makes us feel small in the midst of a vast life, but still brave enough to love.” In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Thai Nguyen rarely has music nights imbued with the spirit of traveling - simple, gentle but full of emotions.
Therefore, two nights of Trinh Son Truyen's Trinh songs were like a gentle breeze, making art lovers appreciate more the spiritual values in modern life. Many audiences shared that they came to listen to Trinh Son Truyen not only to enjoy the music, but also to "find themselves" after busy days, to sit back with nostalgia, with a time of youth associated with Trinh Cong Son's singing.
The two nights of performances have ended, but the echoes remain. Maybe tomorrow the “Traveler” will be on his way to another land, but the melodies he left here, on the land of Thai tea, will continue to resonate in the hearts of music lovers. Because, as the musician Trinh Cong Son said: “Living in life requires a heart, for what, you know… to be carried away by the wind”.
