On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of comrade Le Van Hien (September 15, 1904 - September 15, 2024), this morning, September 12, the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department coordinated with the Ngu Hanh Son District Party Committee and the City Historical Science Association to organize a discussion "Revolutionary intellectual Le Van Hien and the cause of national liberation". Attending the discussion were former Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat Phan Dien; Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Historical Science Association Duong Trung Quoc; Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department Doan Ngoc Hung Anh, along with leaders of departments, scientists and relatives of comrade Le Van Hien.

  Great contributions of revolutionary intellectual Le Van Hien

Comrade Le Van Hien was born on September 15, 1904, in a family in An Nong village, Hoa Hai commune, Hoa Vang district, now Ngu Hanh Son district. From a young age, he soon formed, nurtured, and nurtured patriotism and a deep hatred for the enemy. At the age of 23, he and a number of comrades founded the first Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association branch in Da Nang , pursuing the path of helping the people and the country. During his time participating in revolutionary activities, comrade Le Van Hien always demonstrated the courage of a revolutionary intellectual, a loyal and indomitable soldier.

According to historian Duong Trung Quoc, in his life, comrade Le Van Hien made many important contributions to the revolutionary cause, and was trusted by Uncle Ho to hold many important positions; in which the job he held for the longest time was Minister of Finance . In this position, besides learning the science of financial management from books and colleagues, the handbook helped comrade Le Van Hien become an exemplary model, making outstanding contributions to "common work", which was the training of the qualities of a revolutionary soldier.

At the seminar, delegates focused on exchanging and sharing in-depth research, with a fresh perspective on the great contributions of revolutionary intellectual Le Van Hien over the past 70 years, from the first half of the 1920s to the second half of the 1990s; revolving around three topics corresponding to the three stages of intellectual Le Van Hien's revolutionary activities and a general topic: Revolutionary intellectual Le Van Hien lives forever with posterity.

Comrade Le Van Hien passed away on November 15, 1997, at the age of 93. And with his outstanding contributions, Comrade Le Van Hien was posthumously awarded the Gold Star Medal. Through the discussion, it is an opportunity to remember and express gratitude for the great contributions of the patriot and revolutionary soldier Le Van Hien to the revolutionary movement of his hometown Da Nang in particular and the country in general. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for us to learn from and follow the example of a talented, virtuous leader, a loyal heart to the Party, loyal and devoted to the people./.
