Lively lessons of Biology students at Cuc Phuong National Park

On the occasion of the end of the school year, students of grade 10 Biology 1 and grade 10 Biology 2 of Chu Van An High School for the Gifted ( Hanoi ) had a meaningful field trip to Cuc Phuong National Park (Ninh Binh), one of the largest and most important nature reserves in Vietnam.

Not simply an extracurricular activity, this trip opened up a lively “outdoor classroom” where students could directly observe and experience the natural world , better understand the biological knowledge in books, thereby improving their practical knowledge of biology and the environment.

Under the guidance of Cuc Phuong National Park staff and subject teachers, students participated in a series of rich and profound field activities.

Ecological routes with many geological and historical values ​​such as Silver Cloud - Ancient People Cave were selected for survey, opening the door to the primeval forest ecosystem with diverse vegetation layers.

Here, students measure environmental parameters such as soil moisture, pH, canopy light, micro-temperature, etc. and collect soil and leaf samples to analyze the adaptability of species in natural conditions.

These activities not only help students consolidate their biological knowledge but also inspire their spirit of scientific research and awareness of environmental protection.

A notable highlight of the trip was the activities at animal conservation stations, especially the Endangered Primate Rescue Center - which is taking care of many rare Delacour's langurs.

Biology students are able to directly learn about the process of caring for, monitoring the health, behavior and habitat of wild animals, the process of releasing wild animals back into the natural environment, etc., thereby gaining a deeper understanding of nature conservation work.

Along with the field experience, students also learn about climate change, human impacts on tropical forests and long-term conservation strategies in Cuc Phuong. These contents not only expand the knowledge of the subjects they are pursuing but also contribute to the formation of ecological thinking and global citizenship spirit – indispensable factors in the journey of adulthood of the young generation.

On this occasion, the delegation of students from Chu Van An High School for the Gifted also visited and interacted with students at Cuc Phuong Secondary School, Nho Quan District, Ninh Binh Province, presenting the students here with meaningful gifts donated and prepared by the students and parents of the delegation.
