On the morning of December 19, at Gia Lam airport, Hanoi , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the opening ceremony of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024.

Also attending were leaders of the Party, State, and Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam; Defense Ministers of Laos, Cambodia, Cuba, Belarus, Thailand, Brunei, and Mongolia; leaders of central and local departments, ministries, branches, agencies; representatives of embassies and international organizations in Vietnam, leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, and military commanders of the countries.

The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 will take place from December 19 to 22, 2024, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day. This is a milestone affirming the maturity and growth of the Vietnam People's Army over the past 80 years.

The exhibition had the participation of 66 international delegations and more than 240 defense industry enterprises from 49 countries, demonstrating the prestige and brand in organizing defense exhibitions of Vietnam.

This exhibition is larger in scale than the first one held in 2022. Specifically, the number of types of weapons and equipment in the Vietnam People's Army's inventory is displayed in larger quantities, more diversely and more abundantly (68 types of equipment equipped on an area of 10,530 m2); the number of domestically produced defense, logistics and technical products on display is greater; attracting a larger number of companies from participating countries, including countries with the world's leading military potential and defense industry, such as: USA, Russia, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, India, China, Israel... The total area of the exhibition area has doubled (more than 100,000 m2); the area of outdoor exhibition areas as well as indoor booths are larger than the first exhibition.
