On the morning of September 22, at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) and the online bridge at the Hall of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department (Hanoi), the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to send off Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 and Engineering Team No. 4 to carry out missions at the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and the Abyei region (UNISFA).
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense , Head of the Inter-sectoral Working Group, Head of the Steering Committee of the Ministry of National Defense on participation in United Nations peacekeeping operations chaired the ceremony.
Also attending were Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics ; representatives of ministries, departments, and branches of the Central Government and Ho Chi Minh City; Heads of the General Staff, General Department of Politics, agencies and units in the Ministry of National Defense; representatives of the United Nations, international organizations, embassies, and defense attachés of countries in Vietnam.
Speaking at the departure ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien said that over the past 11 years, Vietnam has sent more than 1,300 officers and professional soldiers of the People's Army and People's Public Security to participate in United Nations peacekeeping operations, which have been recognized and highly appreciated by the international community.
The spirit of responsibility, dedication, and solidarity with the local people of the Vietnamese blue beret soldiers has contributed to spreading the image of the country and people of Vietnam, the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and "People's Police" who love peace.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien emphasized that Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 and Engineering Team No. 4, when deployed to the area, need to continue to promote the tradition of solidarity and international spirit, successfully complete the noble tasks assigned by the Party, State, Army and people, and meet the increasingly high requirements of the United Nations.
He asked the officers and staff of the two units to unite, overcome difficulties, and maintain the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" so that the image of the Vietnam People's Army soldiers continues to shine in the eyes of international friends and local people.

“As peace ambassadors of Vietnam, you need to thoroughly understand the viewpoint of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh that 'helping friends is helping yourself', contributing to beautifying the image of the country and people of Vietnam as peace-loving in the eyes of international friends,” Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien advised.
According to Major General Pham Manh Thang, Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department, this deployment includes 63 officers and staff of Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 and 184 officers and soldiers of Engineering Team No. 4.
100% of officers and staff have completed professional and technical preparations, have a firm grasp of United Nations regulations, the Mission regulations, the host country's laws, Vietnamese laws, military discipline, and are ready to successfully complete assigned tasks./.
