This year's bull racing festival attracted 64 pairs of bulls from localities where Khmer ethnic people live, including: Tinh Bien town (30 pairs), Tri Ton district (24 pairs), Chau Thanh district (3 pairs), Chau Phu district (3 pairs), Thoai Son district (2 pairs) and Giang Thanh district, Kien Giang province sent 2 pairs of bulls to participate (Photo: Trinh Nguyen).

The pairs of bulls that made it to the quarter-finals are mostly “warriors” with a lot of experience and good results in many previous competitions. Mr. Le Van Moi (An Phu ward, Tinh Bien town) won first prize in the 29th Bay Nui bull racing festival. Mr. Moi said he was very excited and did not think he could win this year.
“My oxen and I have participated in many competitions before, but our highest achievement was third place. This year, we unexpectedly won first place, which was a real surprise. I have been preparing for today’s race for a whole year,” Mr. Moi shared (Photo: Hai Long).
