Nostalgic childhood places

It has been a long time since writer Pham Cong Luan released two books for children at the same time this summer: "Paradise Hamlet" and "End of the Forest Farm". These are really attractive books for children because of the interesting stories and clear writing style.

In "The Last Farm in the Forest" , the author takes readers to the mountainous region, where there are people from the city coming to settle down, build houses and of course the most interesting and attractive thing is the landscape with people who know how to tell stories. Although the author uses short, simple stories, they are very interesting. There, we will meet animals endemic to the forest such as: wild chickens, snakes, weasels, cows... It is worth mentioning that this is not a single-line narrative but a variety of languages through the characters, from grandfather, grandfather's friend, Ms. Tu, Mr. Khai, the forest ranger... The story has a large space from the past to the present; from the city to the forest garden; from legend to reality... And that is what the work brings to the readers to experience with the two main characters of the story throughout the summer here, forever lingering about the beautiful days at "The Last Farm in the Forest" .

"Paradise Hamlet" is actually just stories in a small hamlet in Ho Chi Minh City - where the author grew up and lived. Everything is ordinary and small through the description of the characters living in the Pagoda Hamlet, such as Ms. Tu selling street coffee, Mr. Ba Long the bricklayer, Ms. Tuyet, Mr. Tu with gold teeth... and the family of the boy who is the narrator. The stories are all gentle and simple, but through the writer's pen, they become vivid and full of emotions. Interwoven with reality, the writer often recounts the past stories of this land such as: There used to be an ancient pagoda so it was called the Pagoda Hamlet, the shade of ancient trees, many people came to live and leave... Many passages tell very touching scenes of reunion and separation between people here. The final scene is the scene of the Chua hamlet organizing a year-end party to celebrate Tet and send Uncle Ba Long back to his hometown to take care of his old mother, very touching... And just like the author said, the Chua hamlet is called a corner of paradise because here people live together with love and affection like many other small hamlets in Gia Dinh.

Writer Pham Cong Luan was born in 1961, he had a famous children's book more than 30 years ago: "That Son Boy" . However, his most successful forte is the essay books: " The Ways Back to Childhood", "If I Know a Hundred Years is Limited" (co-written with Dang Nguyen Dong Vy - His wife). Writer Pham Cong Luan is also the author of a series of reference books that attract readers such as: " Saigon - Life Stories of the Streets"; "Saigon - Spring Newspaper Style"; "Saigon - Looking Back at a Hundred Years"; "Saigon Gia Dinh Cho Lon - Brilliant Memories" ...

The two books "Paradise Hamlet" and "End of the Forest Farm" were written by writer Pham Cong Luan during the transitional period of book projects for adults. With rich literary knowledge and rich emotions, the two books are truly meaningful gifts for children this summer.
