But in return, car owners will own and experience unique equipment that is only available on these expensive cars.

Starry sky ceiling on Rolls-Royce

When it comes to car ceilings simulating the starry sky, many people will immediately think of Rolls-Royce cars that cost tens of billions of dong.

“Starry sky” has become one of the logos of Rolls-Royce, the British luxury car company did not create this feature.

In 2006, Rolls-Royce created the first Starlight Headliner in history with 800 twinkling stars.

This equipment was specially ordered by a customer from the British brand because they were sensitive to light and requested an environment with soft light with even coverage instead of direct light from one or a few bulbs as is common.

Since then, the starry sky headliner has been one of the options that the rich people love when ordering this model. Engineers at Rolls-Royce's Bespoke Collective (personalization department) have continued to perfect the Starlight Headliner manufacturing technique to continue serving global users.

It takes Rolls-Royce artisans about nine hours to complete a standard “starry sky”, but more special and personal requests from customers can take them up to a week.

All are handmade, without machines because the company wants a result that is always superior and easy to customize according to user needs.

Therefore, master craftsmen who are capable of handling technology, materials and have a lot of experience are given top priority.

Having experienced Rolls-Royce cars with starry sky ceilings, car reviewer Nguyen Truong Thanh (Kenz Nguyen) said that this special design brings sophistication and gentleness to anyone who has the chance to admire it.

The light from the starry sky ceiling creates a dim feeling, just enough to find an object but hardly helps people in the car read books like normal car ceiling lights.

This car reviewer also said that many places in Vietnam have accepted to "upgrade" the starry sky ceiling for popular car models to increase luxury, similar to Rolls-Royce.

However, the visual impression it gives the user is worlds apart from the Rolls-Royce Starlight Headliner.

Umbrella hidden in the door of a Rolls-Royce

The hidden umbrella in the door is a unique and famous feature of Rolls-Royce.

The built-in umbrella slot is perhaps the most unique feature that only appears on Rolls-Royce. Depending on the model, the umbrella slot will be located in the door or near the engine.

More than just a place to store umbrellas, these slots are cleverly designed with drainage ports to allow water to flow out as well as warm air pumps to dry the umbrella for the next use, while also preventing the umbrella from smelling. There is a simple push button to pop the umbrella out and make it easier for the owner to use.

Notably, Rolls-Royce also produces its own umbrellas for the car, which are durable and stylish. The umbrellas themselves are coated with Teflon and antibacterial agents to prevent mold and bacteria from growing. In addition, the umbrellas are designed to be sturdy to avoid tipping from the inside out in strong winds. In addition, the umbrellas also have the Rolls-Royce logo on the base of the handle.

According to some people who recently visited the Rolls-Royce dealership in Ho Chi Minh City, the price for each Rolls-Royce umbrella is revealed to be around 100 million VND.

Champagne glasses on luxury cars

Champagne glasses are a common feature on luxury cars.

On luxury and super luxury cars, champagne glasses are a relatively common high-end equipment. Mercedes-Maybach, Bentley or Rolls-Royce all have these glasses as an option or equipped with the car.

Depending on the metal material (silver, stainless steel, etc.), crystal or glass, and the way it is made, the price of champagne glasses will vary. Usually, glasses on luxury cars will come in two forms: with a base like a regular glass and without a base.

For the baseless type, the cart will have a dedicated cup holder to keep the cup upright. For the base type, the cup holder will have a clamp to hold the cup. In addition, the cup will also be slim and tall to avoid spilling wine while the cart is moving.

Many people wonder why luxury car manufacturers often make champagne glasses instead of other types of wine? Champagne can be seen as a luxurious drink, often used in discussions and negotiations with partners. When negotiations are successful, this type of wine is often used to celebrate. Perhaps that is why champagne glasses are most commonly seen on luxury car models.

Another convenience that few car manufacturers possess, Bentley equips its flagship SUV, the Bentayga, with a fingerprint unlocking box crafted by the Mulliner department.

Accordingly, to enhance privacy and security for users, Bentayga is equipped with a biometrically unlocked storage compartment (fingerprint lock) of the owner located in the middle of the front row. This technology operates similarly to unlocking a phone, but the price of this option is not cheap, about 2,940 USD (equivalent to nearly 70 million VND).

This equipment also appeared on the Bentley Bentayga V8, the 100th anniversary edition of the British luxury car brand, imported to Vietnam in 2019. After that, the car was licensed in Ho Chi Minh City. Many features on the car are personalized according to the owner's choice and the fingerprint unlocking box is one of them.

Rolls-Royce Champagne Fridge

Champagne fridge in Rolls-Royce

Many car models, even popular cars, are equipped with refrigerators and cold boxes to cool drinks and store things. However, the champagne cooler on Rolls-Royce was born with only one purpose: to preserve wine at the most optimal temperature. Customers choosing the 4-seat version with independent rear seats of Rolls-Royce cannot ignore this equipment.

Accordingly, this refrigerator only has 2 cooling modes. Wine experts say that vintage champagne (champagne using only grapes produced in the same year) will need one temperature and non-vintage champagne (champagne using grapes produced from different seasons) will need to be stored at a different temperature. These two types of wine should be stored at 2 different temperatures to ensure the best quality.

Therefore, the champagne refrigerator in the car is also designed by Rolls-Royce with 2 temperature levels to ensure that any type of wine is delicious.

According to experts, the optimal temperature for non-vintage champagne is around 6 degrees Celsius and vintage is around 11 degrees Celsius.
