Ninh Binh: Medical staff at Hai Hau General Hospital attacked

(Dan Tri) - While on duty at the Emergency Resuscitation Department, a female nurse at Hai Hau General Hospital (Ninh Binh) was suddenly assaulted by a patient's family member.

On August 21, Hai Hau General Hospital ( Ninh Binh province) announced that a female nurse at the hospital was assaulted by a patient's family member.

At around 0:10 a.m. the same day, at the Emergency Resuscitation Department, while the nurse was receiving patient NTL, Mr. P.D.T. (Ms. L.'s son, residing in Hai Quang commune) suddenly kicked the medical staff in the stomach.

Immediately afterwards, hospital leaders directed to clarify the incident.

At the working session on the morning of August 21, Mr. T. admitted his actions and directly apologized to the nurse and the hospital staff. Mr. T.'s mother is currently being treated at the Infectious Diseases Department.

According to Hai Hau General Hospital, medical staff being insulted and assaulted has occurred in a number of hospitals across the country, affecting security and order and medical examination and treatment activities.

The hospital affirmed that it will cooperate with authorities to strictly handle cases of violence against medical staff, and at the same time called on patients and their relatives to join hands in building a safe and civilized medical examination and treatment environment.
