Ninh Thuan attracts investment to improve the quality of tourism services

Maintain identity, increase attraction

Ninh Thuan has many unique tourism potentials, from the wild beauty of beaches such as Binh Tien, Ninh Chu, Ca Na; the richness of Thai An grape fields; the majesty of Nam Cuong and Son Hai sand dunes, to the unique Cham and Raglai historical and cultural relics. In particular, with a warm and sunny climate all year round, Ninh Thuan is an ideal destination for sea tourism and eco-tourism.

Vice Chairman of Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Long Bien said that in order to optimize the diverse tourism potential, the province is promoting investment attraction in urban-tourism projects and diversifying utilities to create strong attraction, retain long-term tourists and promote tourism spending. With the goal of turning tourism into a spearhead economic sector by 2025 and developing sustainably by 2030, Ninh Thuan prioritizes calling for investment in key areas in the North, South and the center of Phan Rang - Thap Cham city.

From there, a system of hotels, commercial centers, complex entertainment areas combined with resorts and accommodation will be formed; high-class coastal resorts; and different and attractive tourism products will be built and developed. The province aims to have 12 urban areas by 2030, of which 6 are coastal urban areas: Phan Rang - Thap Cham, Vinh Hy, Thanh Hai, Khanh Hai, Son Hai and Ca Na. These urban areas are planned according to a spatial structure that is interwoven, harmonious between urban and tourism with its own identity.

To date, the province has 55 tourism projects that have been granted investment policy decisions and valid investment registration certificates with a total registered capital of VND50,623 billion. Of these, 27 projects have been put into operation, with a total registered capital of over VND4,019 billion; 18 projects are under construction, with a total registered capital of VND39,935 billion and 10 projects are completing related legal procedures for construction, with a total registered capital of VND6,669 billion.

Many investors are focusing on developing synchronous tourism urban areas, fully integrating "All in one" facilities to meet diverse needs from resort tourism, conference - seminar tourism (MICE) to health care tourism. A typical project is Binh Son - Ninh Chu coastal urban area (Phan Rang - Thap Cham city), with a scale of more than 54 hectares and a total investment of over 17,000 billion VND, including 1,000 townhouses, villas, 10,000 apartments, a chain of 3 - 5 star hotels and tourist apartments.

Mr. Tran Phu Chien, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hacom Holdings Investment Joint Stock Company (investor), said that the company is speeding up the construction of townhouses, shophouses, hotels, social housing areas, commercial centers and international hospitals... to contribute to the growth of urban economy and coastal tourism, contributing to the outstanding development goals of Vietnam in general and Ninh Thuan in particular.

With the goal of turning tourism into a spearhead economic sector, Ninh Thuan focuses on developing tourism in a key, high-class direction, exploiting unique and special marine tourism products to enhance competitiveness. The province has approved the master plan for the construction of Ninh Chu National Tourist Area, with a total land area of about 10,200 hectares and an area for exploiting tourism and services at sea of about 2,000 hectares. This tourist area stretches 105 km along the coast and will play an important role in promoting socio-economic development, especially the tourism industry of Ninh Thuan and the South Central Coast region.

Along with attracting investment, Ninh Thuan is focusing on developing and diversifying tourism products and services; at the same time, upgrading the accommodation system in terms of quantity, scale, architecture and convenient services. The whole province currently has 213 tourist accommodation establishments with 4,706 rooms. In addition, the province promotes linkages and cooperation in tourism development with provinces and cities in the region and the whole country. Thanks to these efforts, in 2024 Ninh Thuan welcomed more than 3.4 million domestic and international visitors, with social income from tourism activities estimated at 3,900 billion VND.

Towards new heights

According to the Ninh Thuan Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1319/QD-TTg, the strategic vision of "Ninh Thuan - a land of convergence of different values" is set out. The goal is to maximize the unique values of the province, creating competitive advantages for the economy, especially tourism, to open up new growth opportunities.

According to Vice Chairman of Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Long Bien, in order to turn tourism into a spearhead economic sector according to Resolution 04-NQ/TU of the Provincial Party Committee, the locality is synchronously implementing solutions. Specifically, Ninh Thuan focuses on improving the investment and business environment, applying the highest incentives according to Government regulations, promoting administrative procedure reform, creating favorable conditions for tourism and tourism real estate business activities. At the same time, the province focuses on exploiting internal resources, building Ninh Thuan into a safe, friendly, and unique destination, bringing interesting experiences to tourists.

To implement this, the province will increase the attraction of investment resources to improve the quality of tourism services, focusing on sustainable tourism development activities associated with the conservation of natural and cultural resources; improve the quality of accommodation, food and entertainment services; develop high-end tourism products to meet the needs of tourists with high spending ability; strengthen links and cooperation with other localities to develop tourism.

The Provincial People's Committee has directed departments, branches and localities to focus on prioritizing the development of three main tourism product groups. Group one is beach experience resort tourism; Cham heritage cultural tourism; high-tech agricultural tourism; eco-tourism associated with Nui Chua National Park. Group two includes new products such as discovery and entertainment tourism; semi-wild hunting; railway experience; nursing and health care. Group three includes supplementary products such as community tourism; entertainment and cuisine; renewable energy production tours; tourism trade.

In addition, Ninh Thuan has increased support and encouraged tourism businesses to develop new, attractive and highly competitive products. Units, localities and tourism associations have stepped up surveys, development and diversification of tourism products; organized cultural events and festivals associated with tourism; built unique products associated with promoting OCOP products, combined with community tourism, agricultural tourism and especially exploiting and promoting the value of cultural heritage associated with tourism development, creating tourism products with a strong local identity. At the same time, the province has focused on training and fostering tourism human resources, ensuring to meet the increasing demands of tourists; actively participated in domestic and foreign tourism events; promoted the image of local tourism in the media.

With synchronous implementation solutions, Ninh Thuan province aims to welcome 3.6 million visitors by 2025. Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach 150,000, domestic visitors are estimated to reach 3.45 million, social income from tourism activities is about 4,500 billion VND, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development.
