Efforts to improve housing for the meritorious

In July, when everywhere is preparing for the day of gratitude to those who contributed to the revolution, new houses for many policy families in Thai Nguyen are being urgently completed. Without fanfare or formality, this is a practical, concrete action, implemented with clear political responsibility: Complete support for improving housing for those who contributed to the revolution before July 27, 2025, according to Decision No. 21/2024/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

According to the Project to support people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs in housing in Thai Nguyen province (before the merger), the whole province has 115 households with meritorious services approved for support, including 25 households for new construction and 90 households for repair, with a total cost of 4.2 billion VND from the central and local budgets. Although the central budget has not been fully allocated up to this point, the province has proactively provided resources, not letting the delay in funding affect the progress of support.

Not stopping there, after the merger, Thai Nguyen received 37 more communes from the old Bac Kan , including 239 households with meritorious services approved for housing support. However, according to the actual survey, by the end of June 2025, 30 households had not yet started construction, concentrated in the areas of Cho Don, Ngan Son, and Cho Moi.

In addition to difficult economic conditions, the cause is also determined to be due to customs, cultural characteristics, and psychology in choosing a date and age to repair or build a new house. Along with that is the impact of too much rain in the past time and coinciding with the busy crop season.

While those reasons are valid, the goal of Thai Nguyen province is clear: complete 100% of support before July 27, 2025. This goal is not only to “keep up with the schedule”, but more deeply, to allow those with merit to settle down in their own solid homes right on the occasion of great gratitude.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Hoang Son and many leaders went directly to the localities, requesting to thoroughly handle cases of unstarted construction. Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Trinh Viet Hung gave direct instructions in the meetings: "The spirit must be higher, the way of doing things must be more creative, the determination must be clearer."

Up to now, all 115 households in the old Thai Nguyen have started construction, of which over 70% have been completed. In the old Bac Kan, 209/239 households have started construction, the progress is accelerating day by day. Notably, the whole province is striving to reach the finish line before July 27, earlier than planned.

In each house that is gradually being completed for those with meritorious services, one can clearly feel the warmth spreading from the people's hearts, along with the sense of responsibility clearly demonstrated in each step of the government as July 27 approaches.

A solid roof, to the right person, at the right time is Thai Nguyen's way of sending the most sincere gratitude to those who silently sacrificed for the Fatherland.
