The area at the foot of the high voltage power pole in group 11, Quyet Thang commune shows signs of landslide. |
In reality, a large high-voltage electric pole was erected on a high hill, close to a residential area in Group 11, Quyet Thang Ward. However, the land around the base of the pole was dug up and leveled to make a yard and garden. These impacts have changed the terrain, weakened the ground and made this area dangerous, at risk of landslides when heavy rains continue for a long time.
Although a fence has been built, people are still worried that if the soil and rocks are eroded and the electric poles fall, it will cause serious consequences, threatening the lives and property of dozens of households, including the nearby school.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Diep, a resident of Group 11, shared: Previously, the distance from the base of the pole to the outside was more than 3-4m, but after the landowner next door leveled the ground to make a garden, the land was dug up close to the base of the pole. Every time it rains heavily, we are very afraid that if the ground collapses, the entire electric pole could be pulled down.
Mr. La Vinh Loc, Head of Residential Group 11, also expressed his concern: This is a densely populated residential area, if an electric pole were to fall, the consequences would be extremely serious. We really hope that the authorities will come in to inspect and promptly take timely measures.
Talking to us, Mr. Nguyen Van Chung, Deputy Chief of Office of Quyet Thang Ward People's Committee confirmed that he had received information from the people and would advise the leaders of the Ward People's Committee to coordinate with related units, especially the Electricity sector, to inspect the current situation, assess the level of danger and have appropriate handling plans.

On the side of the Electricity industry, after receiving feedback from the people and the group of reporters, the unit also sent officers to the scene to examine the current situation of the land at the foot of the high-voltage power pole.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Head of the Thai Nguyen transmission line operation management team (belonging to the Northeast 3 Power Transmission Team - Power Transmission Company 1), affirmed: We will continue to closely monitor the situation, especially during the rainy season, and report and propose to the unit's leaders to send technical staff and related departments to review and take measures to avoid unfortunate incidents...
Lessons from past landslides show that even a small mistake or subjectivity can lead to disaster if there are no early preventive measures. Therefore, to ensure the safety of people in Group 11, Quyet Thang Ward, we request that local authorities and relevant agencies coordinate to inspect and handle the situation promptly to avoid unfortunate consequences.
