Tay Ninh farmers affirm their leading role in developing green economy and high-tech agriculture.

The year 2025 marks the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (October 14, 1930 - October 14, 2025), a special milestone in the history of the Vietnamese revolution. This is an opportunity for every cadre, member and farmer nationwide to review the heroic tradition of the peasant class, while affirming the position and role of the Union in the period of integration, innovation and sustainable development.

Proud of farmer tradition

Since its inception, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnam Farmers' Union has always been a loyal and trustworthy force, making great contributions to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.

In the Southeast, a land rich in revolutionary tradition, the peasant movement in the two provinces of Tay Ninh and Long An (old), brave and resilient lands, was soon formed, closely associated with the spirit of the Nam Ky Uprising in 1940.

The first "Red Farmers' Associations" in Giong Nan (Long Vinh commune, Chau Thanh district, former Tay Ninh province) and the "Not an inch gone, not a glass left" movement of farmers in the (former) Long An province have become immortal symbols of the revolutionary will and indomitable spirit of the Southern peasant class.

From that movement, many generations of farmers in Tay Ninh - Long An stood up to fight and heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, contributing to the great victory of Spring 1975, unifying the country.
Today, that tradition of loyalty, resilience, solidarity and creativity continues to be inherited by generations of Tay Ninh farmers, becoming a precious spiritual source for them to rise up in the new era.

From border fields to dynamic urban areas, Tay Ninh farmers today have been affirming their leading role in building new rural areas, developing green economy, digital economy and high-tech agriculture.

In the general development picture of the province, farmers are not only producers but also creators, entrepreneurs, cultural preservers and environmental protectors. The Tay Ninh Provincial Farmers' Association is the crystallization of two lands rich in tradition, orienting its activities according to the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Cooperation - Development", associated with Resolution No. 19-NQ/TW, dated June 16, 2022, the 5th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee on agriculture, farmers and rural areas to 2030, with a vision to 2045; Resolution No. 46-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2023 of the Politburo on innovation and improving the quality of activities of the Vietnam Farmers' Association to meet the requirements of revolutionary tasks in the new period.

Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Tay Ninh province Nguyen Thanh Tung affirmed: "In the period of industrialization, modernization and deep international integration, the mission of the Association is not only to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of its members, but also to build a truly strong peasant class in the province in terms of politics, ideology, organization and action."

Emulation movement spreads, farmers' lives are increasingly improving

In the period of 2023-2025, the material and spiritual life of Tay Ninh farmers will be constantly improved. The total number of poor households in 2025 is 3,027 (0.37%); the target by the end of 2025 is to reduce the number of poor households by 13.5% (equivalent to 409 poor households); it is estimated that by the end of 2025, the poverty rate will be 0.32%.

The emulation movements launched by the Farmers' Association have become bright spots in rural life. A typical example is the movement "Farmers compete in production and business, unite to help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably" spreading widely, with more than 658,000 households registering and 380,000 households recognized as good farmers and businessmen at all levels.

The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" continues to go into depth, every year over 255,000 farming households achieve the title "Cultural Family".

Many advanced models and examples have been widely replicated and spread, such as: "5+1" and "10+1" models to help each other escape poverty, "Farmers help each other get rich" club, "Breeding cows escape poverty" model, "Grains of loving rice", "Residential area without waste causing environmental pollution", "Model road bright - green - clean - beautiful - safe".

Many good production and business households have supported billions of dong to poor households through interest-free loans, providing seeds, fertilizers, and labor days, helping each other develop the economy and escape poverty sustainably. In the past 3 years alone, the Association at all levels has directly and jointly supported over 2,300 farming households to escape poverty.

95 years of formation and development, the Vietnam Farmers' Union in general and the Tay Ninh Farmers' Union in particular have demonstrated the enduring vitality, bravery, resilience and strong will to rise of the peasant class.

Nowadays, Tay Ninh farmers are not only diligent and hard-working but also proactive in digital transformation, applying science and technology, starting creative businesses and adapting to climate change. They are the core force contributing to the successful implementation of the province's sustainable development goals in the new period.

The 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Union is an opportunity for each cadre, member and farmer in Tay Ninh to proudly look back on the glorious past, continue to promote the spirit of "courage, resilience, solidarity, creativity" - continue to write a new history of intellectual, creative, integrated farmers, join hands to build a new green, civilized and sustainably developed Tay Ninh./.
