Farmers with high-tech agriculture

In 2016, Hoa Vang district issued and implemented the project "Promoting the application of high technology in production to increase productivity and product quality serving urban areas in the period of 2016-2020" and the project "Promoting the application of high technology in agricultural production in the period of 2021-2025". Thanks to that, for many years now, the application of high technology in production to increase productivity and quality of agricultural products has been the main trend in the district. According to statistics from the functional sector, the whole district has 30 agricultural production models applying high technology, focusing on bringing new crop varieties into production, bringing economic efficiency and adapting to the soil conditions of Hoa Vang.

Contributing to the above success is the key role of the District Farmers' Association when regularly promoting propaganda work, contributing to changing the thinking of farmers, shifting from traditional production activities to agricultural economics, producing high-value products, achieving many positive results. Enterprises and agricultural production cooperatives applying high technology, organic, ecological are the core, creating momentum in production in the area such as: Afarm High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company, Hoa Vang Vegetable and Fruit Cooperative, Tuy Loan Safe Vegetable Cooperative...

The production chain models associated with product consumption, developing OCOP product chains at enterprises: My Phuong Food Co., Ltd., Peco Food Co., Ltd. all have a large workforce of farmers in the area. This is also a clear demonstration of the change in thinking in farming of farmers today when they are ready to approach and apply modern technology to production activities, or participate in high-tech production lines.

Mr. Pham Van Hung (born in 1977), owner of a hanging flower garden with a high-tech planting and care model in Hoa Phong commune (Hoa Vang district) said that he made the change in his career, from conventional farming to high-tech hanging flower growing, due to the encouragement and support from the district Farmers' Association. To carry out this project, he was supported by the district People's Committee with 170 million VND to build and install a greenhouse as well as a drip irrigation system. After many years of investment, he has now earned monthly profits, each month the project supplies the market with 4,000 - 5,000 flower baskets of various types such as periwinkle, million bells, primroses, etc. From this production model, Mr. Hung and his family earn tens, even hundreds of millions of VND per crop.

In addition to promoting mechanization and applying high technology in specialized and concentrated production areas, for vegetables, flowers and green-skinned grapefruit, farmers are also promoted by associations at all levels, mainly the District Farmers' Association, creating conditions for them to access capital as well as having opportunities to connect and participate in effectively developing agricultural production models associated with tourism, thereby creating jobs and having stable income.

Mr. Do Van Lai and his wife (65 years old, living near Ho Du - Khe Voi area, Hoa Nhon commune, Hoa Vang district) expressed their joy when being mobilized and promoted by the local association to participate in the project of developing agriculture combined with tourism in the area. Over the years, the couple has had a fairly stable income of 7-8 million VND/month/person thanks to selling lotus, bananas, scallion... and other agricultural products.
