Vivid practice
In recent times, our province has clearly identified the development of CNC agriculture as one of the key tasks of the agricultural sector. On the basis of green - clean - effective agriculture, many policies to support and encourage enterprises, cooperatives and farming households to boldly invest and apply new technologies in production have been issued. Thanks to that, the province's agricultural production has made a clear change.
In the field of cultivation, drip irrigation technology, environmental sensors, and automatic misting have been widely applied in vegetable and fruit growing areas. In rice cultivation, drones are used to sow seeds, fertilize, and spray pesticides. For livestock, modern farms apply automatic feeding, drinking, and cooling systems, helping to control the livestock process well and significantly reduce labor costs...
According to a representative of the Ninh Binh Agricultural Extension and Trade Promotion Center, switching from traditional production methods to CNC agricultural production helps people master crops, increase productivity, raise income and create more jobs locally.
In the province, many CNC agricultural production models are showing effectiveness. A typical example is Thanh Ha Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative, a pioneer in investing in CNC agricultural development in Dong Du CNC Agricultural Application Zone (Binh Luc commune). On an area of 19.5 hectares, the Cooperative has invested tens of billions of VND to build a closed greenhouse system, automatic temperature and humidity regulation, drip irrigation system using Israeli technology, and smart misting to help plants always be provided with appropriate nutrients and water. Sprouts, baby leafy vegetables, spices, and herbs are grown, cared for, and harvested according to VietGAP procedures, ensuring safety and traceability.
Thanks to its superior quality, Thanh Ha Cooperative's products are available in many supermarkets from the North to Thua Thien Hue . Every day, the Cooperative supplies the market with about 600 kg of various vegetables, creating stable jobs for more than 20 local workers with an average income of 7 million VND/person/month.
Or at Toan Xuan Company Limited (Van Thang commune), with the orientation of developing organic and safe agriculture, the Company has invested in a system of greenhouses, net houses, water reservoirs and automatic irrigation systems, using completely organic fertilizers for vegetables, tubers, fruits... Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, Director of the Company said: "CNC application helps us control the cultivation process well, reduce dependence on the weather; ensure clean products can be supplied stably to the market all year round. Every day, we bring to the market about 300kg of vegetables, tubers, fruits, ensuring quality and trusted by consumers".
Ms. Bui Thi Thu, a resident of Tu Vinh hamlet, Van Thang commune, said: “Growing safe vegetables, organic vegetables in a greenhouse system, net house can control temperature, light and humidity, plants grow more stably, some types of vegetables can also be grown off-season. This method also helps stabilize output, significantly reduces the use of pesticides, ensuring safety for consumers and the health of growers.”
In the province, there are also CNC agricultural models such as: growing vegetables in greenhouses in Yen Mo commune; a model of producing vegetables, tubers and fruits using CNC, safely in greenhouses in Binh Luc commune with outstanding efficiency; a model of growing melons in greenhouses in Yen Thang ward; growing grapes and melons in greenhouses and greenhouses in Yen Tu commune; growing peony grapes and black grapes in greenhouses using Japanese technology, meeting VietGAP standards, bringing high income in Dong Du CNC Agricultural Cooperative (Binh Luc commune); Phu Van High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company (Phu Van ward) and Nam Phong Ornamental Plants Cooperative (Vi Khe ward) apply greenhouse systems, automatic control systems for light, temperature, humidity, helping Phalaenopsis orchids bloom at the right time according to market demand...
The inevitable direction
In fact, the application of science and technology in agricultural production is an inevitable direction to create a breakthrough in productivity and quality of agricultural products. In recent times, to support the development of CNC agriculture, in addition to mechanisms and policies on investment in infrastructure systems of electricity, water, and transportation serving concentrated production areas, the province has also integrated support programs to encourage businesses, cooperatives and farmers to apply advanced technology, process and increase product value.

To date, the province has established 42 production and consumption chains for agricultural products, including key products such as rice, vegetables, pork, brackish water seafood, clams and salt. In addition, there are 97 establishments certified by VietGAP, HACCP, ISO and more than 170 enterprises using QR codes to trace the origin of 230 product lines.
Trade promotion activities have also been expanded, supporting hundreds of agricultural products of nearly 200 establishments to go to e-commerce platforms such as: Voso.vn, Posmart, Shopee... OCOP programs have been effectively implemented, up to now, the whole province has more than 600 OCOP products with 3 stars or more, of which 3 agricultural products are recognized as 5-star OCOP at the national level...
However, CNC agriculture in our province still faces many difficulties such as: the number of enterprises applying CNC is still small; the new greenhouse and membrane house models are concentrated in some areas; technical infrastructure in planning areas is not yet synchronized; access to preferential capital sources is still limited; many cooperatives and farming households have the need to expand production scale, but are stuck with land funds, land lease procedures or the ability to mobilize capital; technology transfer and human resource training for CNC production still need to be further strengthened...
According to the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, in response to this reality, Ninh Binh is continuing to improve mechanisms and policies for the development of hi-tech agriculture; supporting businesses, cooperatives and farmers to access preferential capital, applying digital transformation in the production and consumption of agricultural products. In particular, encouraging the connection of "4 houses" (State, scientists, businesses and farmers) to create a foundation for hi-tech agricultural development; helping to improve productivity, increase profits, associated with the goal of green - clean - safe, adapting to climate change, contributing to building sustainable agriculture.
From the safe vegetable beds in Dong Du, the mesh melon trellis in Yen Tu to the high-tech flower gardens in Phu Van, Vi Khe, these CNC production models are contributing to the formation of a smart agriculture, where people and technology together control land resources. At the same time, CNC agricultural economic models have spread new production thinking: planned, controlled, linked to the market and environmentally friendly. From there, promoting the province's agriculture to transform from small-scale production to modern, branded and sustainable production.
