Artist Hong Nhung's real name is Nguyen Thi Nhung, born in 1953 in Hai Phong. She graduated from the Hanoi Conservatory of Music and the Sofia Conservatory of Music, Bulgaria. She is famous for her ability to play the flute (electronic flute).

Artist Hong Nhung and musician Phu Quang met after both had gone through an unfulfilled first marriage. She and musician Phu Quang were devoted to music and love. She contributed a lot to his musical career, especially in the early stages in Ho Chi Minh City.
