Saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan had a very special relationship with the late musician Phu Quang when he was still alive. The two had a long-standing friendship despite the age gap. Perhaps because he was originally a Cor trumpet artist, Phu Quang always had special respect for soloists of many musical instruments - from Violin, Cello to Saxophone, Flute...

In them, he found a common ground: each had their own voice, a free spirit alongside hard work and seriousness. They were not only attached to music but also lived their whole lives with music. Among them, Tran Manh Tuan was probably one of the closest companions - someone who could share with him everything from artistic interests to everyday stories.
Not only do they bond in concerts from the South to the North, they also go on tours abroad together many times. Those trips are not only a journey to bring Vietnamese music to overseas Vietnamese but also like a trip of friends - wandering, improvising, sharing, and collecting beautiful memories together. On stage, they are two artists blending in music. Behind the lights, they are close friends, able to sit together for hours without saying many words.

In Tran Manh Tuan, the audience always sees a professional spirit and unpredictable changes in art. He can make the saxophone sound like a passionate fire and then immediately become gentle and clear like a stream. It is this perseverance, constant exploration and never giving up that has created the name of Tran Manh Tuan - an artist who both maintains tradition and opens new doors for Vietnamese music.
In Phu Quang's music, the saxophone has a special meaning. It is like the sigh of Hanoi's streets on winter nights, like the desolate whisper of memories, sometimes exploding with longing.

When Tran Manh Tuan plays the trumpet, Phu Quang's music seems to be given a new coat - still sweet but romantic and dreamy - making the listener feel lost in a space that is both familiar and strange. That combination has become an indispensable mark in many of his music nights.
In 2021, when musician Phu Quang fell ill and passed away, Tran Manh Tuan also faced a serious illness, close to the boundary of life and death. It was a cruel coincidence of fate - two friends who had accompanied each other on many journeys, now faced the most challenging moment.

But if Phu Quang was forced to leave his musical legacy as a farewell, Tran Manh Tuan was lucky to return thanks to a miraculous revival, then fought hard to continue breathing life into his saxophone.
That return is not only good news for the audience and his family, but also a testament to the spirit of never giving up - an artist who has crossed the line of life to return, to step onto the stage, to continue living fully with music.
In the Phu Quang music night sponsored by GG Corporation, a group of high-quality life solutions, Tran Manh Tuan's saxophone will not only resound like a familiar sound but also like a fire. A fire that is rekindled after it seemed to have died down but will then burn stronger than ever.
Musician Phu Quang
The audience will see through his trumpet not only music but also the will to live, the belief in never giving up, the courage of an artist who has bravely crossed the line between life and death to return to the stage. That trumpet sound – sometimes soft as a consolation, sometimes bright as a strong desire to live – is proof that art can conquer both illness and pain.
Tran Manh Tuan's saxophone will resonate long, beyond the stage lights, beyond space and time. It is like a river constantly finding its way back to the ocean - where there is Phu Quang's music, memories of a beautiful friendship, and aspirations that never stop.
Along with saxophone artist Tran Manh Tuan, Phu Quang's music night with the theme "Aspiration" also brings together singers who have been familiar with Phu Quang's music nights over the years such as: Thanh Lam, Ngoc Anh, Dao Mac and Tuan Hiep, along with leading solo artists such as People's Artist Bui Cong Duy, pianist Tran Minh Tuan and the guidance of conductor Tran Nhat Minh, "Aspiration" promises to bring a comprehensive musical experience: classical yet contemporary, familiar yet new. Artist Trinh Huong - the late musician's daughter will take on the role of Artistic Director and pianist.
