Despite controversy over its emotional and creative qualities, the AI music wave is still creating a remarkable innovation in online music life.
AI Music Lands on YouTube Vietnam
As tools like Suno AI, Udio or Mubert develop strongly globally, the trend of "AI writing music" is quickly spreading to Vietnam.
Since early 2025, more and more YouTube channels have been experimenting with AI composing, arranging, and singing instead of humans. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), by the end of 2024, about 25% of songs released online globally will have AI elements.
In Vietnam, the content creation community has quickly caught up with this trend, from amateur music lovers to young producers. One of the prominent examples is the TRO - Music channel, which currently has more than 118,000 subscribers and 148 AI music videos , with a total of more than 31 million views after only three months of posting.
The channel specializes in posting lyrical, ballad, and rock songs composed or arranged by AI. Songs like Van Ly Sau have garnered more than 6.9 million views, Da Lat Con Mua Khong Em has 9.3 million views in just two months on YouTube.
In addition to TRO - Music, many other AI music creators such as Ken Quach Official, with bolero and rumba melodies combined with guitar sounds.
AI Love Music Channel also unexpectedly brought the song Diem Xua composed by musician Trinh Cong Son, remixed in a stronger style of metal and rock.
On YouTube, the tags #musicAI, #Suno, #AImusic appear more and more frequently. AI music in Vietnam is opening up a creative experimental space where anyone can write a song in just a few minutes with a few commands.

Sounds real, but the singer doesn't exist?
AI music is highly appreciated by many people for its ability to reproduce sophisticated sounds. Some readers of Tuoi Tre Online commented in the article "Frightened" by the perfection of AI music: "It must be admitted that AI music is almost perfect, the voice and sound quality are almost absolute. Although there are a few words that are not quite accurate, it sounds very good."
However, there are also opposing opinions: "AI music is 100% forced and has unclear meaning and no depth. Music is the vibration of the soul. The emotionless perfection of AI will never replace human emotions."
Some readers saw this as an opportunity, not a threat: "AI musicians are exploding. Instead of fear, see this as an opportunity for human artists to explore new boundaries and find their own identity."

Under the videos of YouTube channels, most of them received compliments from listeners, the remixes or self-composed songs were well received. Many people left comments that these songs "brought back memories in the most authentic way" or "expressed the emotions of the song in the most "correct" way".
Besides, the early 8X-9X generation all left comments that they really liked these AI-created songs, "it's like a story told through music, the scene appears on each note...".
The rapid development of AI in music has international organizations speaking out.
In January 2025, the US Copyright Office affirmed: "When creativity is expressed through the use of AI systems, it remains copyright protected."
In contrast, the music industry is concerned about the risk of copyright infringement.
“AI being used to serve artists is great, but AI using their work without permission and compensation is not,” said Adam Granite, executive vice president of global market development at Universal Music Group.
The future of Vietnamese music in the AI era?
Despite the controversy, it is undeniable that AI music is opening a new era for online music in Vietnam. Technology makes creativity more accessible but also raises the question: when emotions are programmed, will music still "live"?
As many audiences commented, AI can write quickly, arrange accurately, and sing the right notes, but only humans can make music have soul.
According to the IMS Business Report 2025 (DJ Mag), more than 60 million people globally used AI software to create music in 2024, a figure that reflects unprecedented popularity.
