Despite remaining controversial regarding its emotional impact and creativity, the wave of AI music is creating a remarkable revolution in online music .

AI music takes over Vietnamese YouTube.

As tools like Suno AI, Udio, and Mubert flourish globally, the "AI-written music" trend is rapidly spreading to Vietnam.

Since the beginning of 2025, an increasing number of YouTube channels have been experimenting with the possibility of AI composing, arranging, and singing in place of humans. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), by the end of 2024, approximately 25% of songs released online globally will incorporate AI elements.

In Vietnam, the content creation community has quickly embraced this trend, from amateur music lovers to young producers. One prominent example is the TRO - Music channel, which currently has over 118,000 subscribers and 148 AI music videos , with a total of over 31 million views in just three months.

This channel specializes in uploading romantic songs, ballads, and rock music composed or with AI-assisted arrangement. Songs like "Van Ly Sau" (A Thousand Miles of Sorrow) have garnered over 6.9 million views, and "Da Lat Con Mua Khong Em" (Is It Still Raining in Da Lat, My Dear?) has 9.3 million views in just two months on YouTube.

Besides TRO - Music, there are many other AI music creators such as Ken Quach Official, with bolero and rumba melodies combined with guitar sounds.

The AI Love Music channel also unexpectedly brought the song "Diem Xua" composed by musician Trinh Cong Son, rearranged in a more powerful metal/rock style.

On YouTube, hashtags like #AImusic, #Suno, and #AImusic are appearing more and more frequently. AI music in Vietnam is opening up a space for creative experimentation, where anyone can write a song in just a few minutes with a few commands.

It sounds real, but the singer doesn't exist?

AI music is highly praised by many for its sophisticated sound reproduction capabilities. Some readers of Tuoi Tre Online commented in the article "Terrifying" about the perfection of AI music: "It must be acknowledged that AI music is almost perfect, the vocals and sounds are almost flawless. Although there are a couple of words that aren't quite right, it sounds really good."

However, there are also opposing opinions: "AI music is 100% forced and lacks clear meaning and depth. Music is the vibration of the soul. The emotionless perfection of AI will never replace human emotion."

Some readers, however, see this as an opportunity, not a threat: "AI musicians are booming. Instead of being afraid, see this as an opportunity for human artists to explore new limits and find their own identity."

Under the videos of YouTube channels, most receive praise from listeners; both remixes and original compositions are well-received. Many people leave comments saying that these songs "bring back old memories in the most authentic way" or "capture the emotions of the song most accurately."

In addition, the 80s and early 90s generations left comments expressing their fondness for these AI-generated songs, saying, "It's like a story told through music, the scene is brought to life in every note...".

The rapid development of AI in music has prompted international organizations to speak out.

In January 2025, the US Copyright Office affirmed: "When creativity is expressed through the use of AI systems, it remains protected by copyright."

Conversely, the music industry is concerned about the risk of copyright infringement.

Adam Granite, Executive Vice President of Global Market Development at Universal Music Group, stated: "It's great that AI is used to serve artists, but it's not great that AI uses their work without permission and compensation."

What is the future of Vietnamese music in the age of AI?

Despite ongoing debate, it's undeniable that AI music is ushering in a new era for Vietnamese online music. While technology makes creativity more accessible, it also raises the question: when emotions are programmed, will music still truly "live"?

As many viewers have commented, AI can write quickly, arrange music accurately, and sing the right notes, but only humans can give music soul.

According to the IMS Business Report 2025 (DJ Mag), more than 60 million people globally used AI software to create music in 2024, a figure reflecting unprecedented popularity.
