During her official visit to Bulgaria with General Secretary To Lam , on October 23, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of General Secretary To Lam, visited and interacted with children at Zvanche Kindergarten No. 2 in Sofia.
Accompanying Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly was Mrs. Desislava Radeva, wife of the President of Bulgaria.
In a lively and warm atmosphere, the teachers and students of Zvanche School respectfully invited the two Ladies to enjoy bread dipped in honey and salt, a traditional ceremony demonstrating Bulgarian hospitality and a warm welcome.
Here, the two First Ladies watched cultural performances by children, with lively and joyful Vietnamese and Bulgarian songs. The two First Ladies held hands with the children and joined in the Bulgarian folk dance – cheerful and innocent steps that served as bridges connecting the two cultures.
Next, the two Ladies and the children practiced rolling Vietnamese spring rolls – a familiar symbol of Vietnamese cuisine – creating a warm and intimate atmosphere.
At the art class, the two First Ladies and the children completed a joint painting depicting the friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria. First Lady Ngo Phuong Ly chose the lotus flower – a symbol of purity, resilience, and the vibrant vitality of the Vietnamese people.
Mrs. Desislava Radeva chose Bulgarian roses – a symbol of beauty, love, and the cultural identity of the "land of roses".

Speaking at the visit, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly expressed her emotion at visiting Zvanche School - an exemplary educational institution in Sofia, where children are not only nurtured with love and dedication, but also inspired in them creativity, compassion, and a love of art.
"The name Zvanche – meaning 'little bell' – is simple yet evocative. I envision the clear, cheerful sound of the bell from childhood, which also symbolizes a learning environment filled with laughter, joy, and discovery," she shared.
The wife of General Secretary To Lam stated that Vietnam has always considered early childhood education as the first and most important foundation in human development. Vietnam continuously invests in infrastructure, improves the quality of teachers, and innovates modern teaching methods, focusing on the child.
She believes that with the dedicated care of the teachers and the cooperation from families, schools, and society, the children at Zvanche Kindergarten No. 2 will grow up healthy, confident, full of love, and with aspirations to reach for the future.
On this occasion, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly donated a children's playground to the school along with many children's books and stories, conveying a message about friendship, knowledge, and the joy of childhood.
